  1. Had a new toy arrive today.
  2. Here are some that my children have done.
  3. I've been chatting with Stihl technical dept today Gsi Maintenance. They are aware of the problem with these sprayers. They said that there will be a new lance coming out to fix the problem. The person that I spoke to said that since it is a problem that they are aware of it should be covered under warranty. However there isn't going to be a recall or public announcement when it comes out so all he could suggest was for me to keep checking with my dealer. In the meantime he suggested that if you raise the nozzle higher than the trigger unit and squeeze the trigger to bleed the air out prior to use. it cures the dribble, while waiting for the fix to come out.
  4. Here's mine. It started off as this pencil sketch and we added the colour during the sitting.
  5. They might have something there. My wife told me in no uncertain terms that she'd divorce me if I ever had my hair cut short, (and that was before I'd even proposed!!!).
  6. Sadly not Gerbutt. I don't climb every day as my work covers a lot of general garden work as well as tree work. And with this weather I'm mad busy. So the best so far has been a hang in the house.
  7. Yay! Mine arrived today. Can't wait to get out and try it.
  8. Get all the staff to read the HSS guidance, and sign to say that they have read it. After all "felling a tree isn't hard".
  9. Oh that's good then. I thought it sounded like you had done your research and would have known, but I didn't want to assume that, and then find that you'd had an accident because you didn't know.
  10. Please don't take this the wrong way and forgive me if I'm telling you something that you already know. You said that you were having problems with your hitch. You weren't using just a hitch were you?! You can't decend on just a hitch srt like you would ddrt. You need another friction device in the system like a rope wrench. So if you were using just a hitch that would be where your problem was.
  11. Why not combine the skills that you already have with working outdoors. Start up a business specialising in outdoor lighting. Contact all the garden designers and landscapers in your area to help get work in. The landscape company that I used to work for, regularly had an electrician come in to install lighting for clients, outside sockets etc.
  12. I've just bought one of those and it does the same thing. It's not a small dribble either. I thought buying a stihl one would be a safe bet out of the less expensive ones. But apparently not.
  13. Most of the M54 is 2 lane. Can't think of any A roads near me that are 3 lanes though. But then I am in the middle of the countryside though. It's 2 hours drive to reach a motorway.
  14. So sorry, I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through.
  15. Thanks folks. Yes I've got a wire core flipline and I've been trying to remember my training and hold the flipline rather than the tree. I also used a tip from on here and clipped by climbing line through a krab on the back of my harness to keep it out of the way of my feet.
  16. I've taken a few bushy connies down in the past by leaving pegs, but decided earlier in the year that it was time to get myself a set of spikes. And this was the first work on them. I've got a bigger dismantle lined up for a few weeks time, so this has helped give me a bit of confidence for that.
  17. Did my first dismantle on spikes today. Only a couple of manky connies but still feeling pretty good about it.
  18. One of the lads on my CS39 training and assessment did it with a rear handled saw. He passed without and problems.
  19. I've been pagan for about 20 years. I tend to read quite widely about what a lot of people would call new age hippy stuff, so I have a basic knowledge even if it isn't something I would be into myself. I don't do much with Runes my self so I had to check those in a book for the meanings. You don't necessarily need to remove the cord just cut / untie it so that it is 2 separate strands rather than a loop that something could get a head or feet stuck in.
  20. It sounds like someone has performed a ceremony there. The object that you've found could be one of 2 things. An offering or a charm / talisman as part of spell work. Generally though, spell work would involve destruction of the device by burning it or such like to release the energy of the spell towards it's aim. Where as a talisman is like a good luck charm (like a lucky rabbits foot) that would be carried with the person. So I think it is more likely to be an offering. I'm not familiar with the symbol on the front, but I suspect it is meant to represent the 8 spoked wheel of the year symbolising the turning cycles of life. The symbols on the back are Runes (dating back to Viking use). From the top going clockwise they are: Othila - Separation, retreat, inheritance Thurisaz - Gateway Isa - Withdrawl, winter Nauthiz - Constraint, necessity, pain Gebo - Partnership Looking at it all together my theory would be that someone was performing a kind of memorial ceremony for a loved one. So no, I would say that you aren't cursed. You could look at what you have as a pretty charm made with a great deal of love and devotion or equivalent to picking up flowers from a graveyard. So depending on your feeling I'd either keep it and appreciate it or return it to where you found it. (If you return it please cut the cord so it doesn't form a loop that wildlife could get tangled in. Any pagan should know better than to have left it like that.)
  21. Well.....I tried it, and WOW! Love it. Not only does it work to give me better movement, but it's made the harness more comfy too. It doesn't seem to pinch the hips so much. It'll definitely make the harness better to use until I can justify an upgrade.
  22. When I worked at a high ropes course we used Teflon spray on the krabs. Seemed to work very nicely.
  23. I use Dickie's work trousers from the local builders merchant. Plenty of handy pockets. Take knee pads and have really tough material on the knees. Nice and smart navy and black. Mine lasted really well but the sun does tend to bleach the colour out a bit.
  24. Yes I'd come to that conclusion myself Paullen, based on what I'd heard. I was just struggling to find something that hadn't gone 4 mix. Hopefully I can check out the 2 that doobin mentioned tomorrow.
