  1. this can only end badly
  2. where are you in Powys by the way,i could show you a tree bridge I made in llangurig
  3. Sounds obvious, but are there any trees you could drop across the river .Then just take a slab off the top to make a deck and joint some uprights in to hold a handrail.
  4. The ones with a bottom loop are good because you can tip the contents so easily without damaging the bag, I use the hook on a chain on my loader.
  5. Hope it works out.
  6. Try KEITH BOUND ON 01686 440606 he is a hay and straw man and often wants backloads from mid wales towards the straw.
  7. Here in damp mid wales kindling was in short supply in the old days,so they never let the fires go out ,some burnt constantly for 50 or 60 years. They would even take the fire with them if they moved house.
  8. Cheers guys,i was asking because I sell a few but as usual in poverty stricken mid wales the price is a bit lower than elsewhere.
  9. Anyone buying or selling hedging stakes ? What sort of money are we talking in different areas.
  10. When I read some of the angry, uptight threads like "is arb work hard work" I wonder what percentage of us look forward to the job and love what they do.I hope the majority enjoy it.I think you gotta lay back a bit ,get on with everybody and come home happy.
  11. Anyone know why the axmen don't wear helmets with visors?I cant stand all that junk in the eyes, and rarely start a saw without eye protection on.
  12. My mate told me 30 years ago that you cant resharpen chains, hes been taking them away for me ever since he doesn't even charge me. (joking)
  13. Does dog pull wheelbarrow
  14. Week away to cornwall, any recommendations on tree related attractions to visit?
  15. Not trailer related but I recently bought 500 net bags and discovered that I can gain about £26 an hour bagging bulk loads into nets plus it gets you a new set of customers.
  16. The welsh assembly government plants a tree for every child born in Wales and sends a letter explaining its location. How good is that?
  17. Anybody use one of these winches that attach to a chainsaw, ive watched the videos but would like to hear from anyone using them in the field. One of my concerns would be the effect of prolonged revving on the saw engine.
  18. Anybody able to put up some detailed photos of the kind of angles and profiles I should be aiming for when edging my sawblade for a bit of general stake making and crosscutting. I seem to start with different ideas every time I approach the job. regards FORESTGOUGH
  19. Do you like the customer? If so are you ever out their way anyway,if so deliver it then for small fee. everybodys happy, you re a hero.
  20. Ive got the bigger urban 110,not done too much with it yet, produced 16 dumpy bags of logettes one weekend, which seemed reasonable. stuff dries quickly and I was impressed that the 60 hp tractor driving it only used 1 litreof fuel to produce a bag of fuel. Main problem to marketing the fuel is its bitty appearance, more of a shovel on affair really, but take it from me theres plenty of heat in it.
  21. You sure there wasn't metal in it,sounds odd that your saw blunted so sudden.
  22. Said by a bald mate about hair It falls off a gentleman but you have to scrape it off a pig
  23. I do 15000 a year in my expert,240 a week commute plus weekends odd jobbing. Its averaged 41 mpg, pulls a trailer with a couple of dumpys of logs etc,me and the dog have slept in it.Ive done about 60 k in it so far and only blown a turbo pipe so far ,its got 160k on the clock now,so no complaints here a bonus for me is the three seats in the front.
  24. Great idea with the bungee, thats what I love about this forum. keep up the good work.
  25. Had a double bad blow at my sons house by hitting a gas pipe with a spade whilst digging post hole, panicked and phoned gas board.Lads arrived and told me it was going to ruin me,turned out to be an uncharted dead end and I never got a bill.Sad thing was we could have tapped it off and had free gas for life if I had stopped and thought.
