1. The welmac urban tr70 or the bigger tr110 would eat up inch square oak strips 3 or 4 at a time, that would make cracking fuel too.
2. Try my buddy,IAN RICHARDS he has a fencing company in Tonbridge he might take it or know someone who will 07811956744.
3. Just worked out that it costs about £2.30 to fill my husky 372xp with 2 stroke mix and chainoil, that started me wondering how much more to add for chain and bar wear per refuelling and lastly depreciation on the saw. I bet it adds up to over £3 per refill.
4. Rough old wooden mushrooms don't take long and seem to sell
5. Ive done this myself and can confirm I got 100 builders bags out of a good artic load[well filled bags too]
6. Anyone use a chopsaw with multipurpose blade to cut up builders/scrap timber?im tempted by the one in screwfix flyer cuts up to 12x3,looks it a bit more civilised than my pto sawbench for scrap stuff. How long would a blade like that last cutting nails and stuff.
7. trouble with rapeoil is the smell of chips and cooking while using it,wonder if you can add anything to it to take away smell and add a bit more clinginess.
8. any bargain chain oil out there at the moment
9. When ive had a conundrum like this in the past,i have put a cheap small ad in local paper for the proposed service(ie flail mowing) and then judged the response as to whether there is demand for that machine. If the response is good you have confidence buying the kit to make money straight away.
10. Any body recommend led trailer lighting boards, are they the answer to constant trailer problems.
11. Any genius methods to solve this age old problem ,apart from getting a job in an office.
12.
any luck with john long,it was at least 12 months ago we had our near miss with him the job was to fall some trees interfering with a mast in machynlleth mid wales, when my mate rang him he said he had got it sorted.

13. Forgot to say,if you have a dumpy on trailer it can usually be tipped off by pulling the two handles nearest the hitch towards the back, then the bag falls off and lands upside down.
14. You get some useful ali sections on old stairlifts,i made a logosol type set up with one.
15. Ive got a trailer like yours and I put an empty dumpy bag inside it,then roll the bag down and fill with logs whilst rolling the sides back up then I tie the handles together with bale twine and charge £40.The good thing about that trailer is you can push it round like a barrow,up side of houses etc.
16. Anybody see much potential in the newly announced scheme.
17. Any bright ideas on machines to cannibalise into a diy kindler,i cant justify buying one but would like to improve on the manual method.Apart from an old power hacksaw there must be other old machines with a similar motion or mechanism.

Try and work on a plan to put less strain on your back for the future, how did you hurt it?
21. Cant see a problem, log it soon so it dries quickly. my motto"IF ITS WOOD ITS GOOD"
22. Is the client aware that you know the work has been done by someone else? If not you could ring to confirm the start time and see what response you get, possibly an embarrassed apology.
23. Hope I don't sound like an anorak, but I like checking stuff like this. I bought an artic of softwood[26 cube they claimed] it converted into 100 dumpys or approx. 50 cube of split firewood. I was also curious about the margin on netting logs,i took 3 dumpy bags[worth£100 to me at the time]and netted them to make 75 good nets containing 10-12 logs in each. Results for me was@£2.50 a net I converted£100 of logs into £182 in 2.5 hours, the nets were £10 so I reckon a gain of approx.£29 a hour of effort, also gave me a new set of customers as the only garage in my town sells nets at £4.10.
