  1. it would be a shame to damage good mill wood that could be worth something to someone
  2. circular rack saw bench | eBay i think this one was on ebay early last year
  3. hi jon, ive got 3 Mitsubishi/caterpillar rams and pump off a 18ton digger they are the same rams 20ton+. i was going to upgrade the splitter but too much work. its easier to start again with heavier steel the jcb rams are 3ft, more blades need more tons
  4. awww! ha i recognize that splitter, i based my ones design on that one after seeing it on youtube back in 2012 i dont deserve any credit, its even got wheels
  5. Thanks, i did but as rusty says its a shame it dosent have wheels. back to the drawing board!
  6. its only 27 tons the rams are rated at 12ton each but we tweeked the digger an extra 300psi
  7. the splitter pushes the logs straight into a large grain bucket on a tellihandler, its just out of sight behind the camera. i had it loading a conveyor but it was overwhelmed
  8. been on here before but todays the first use its had in two years, the diggers not healthy quite lucky today as nothing broke or jammed and two m3 split in under 5min! [ame] [/ame]
  9. Dewalt Dw625ek 240v 2,000w 1/4 & 1/2 Inch Router With Case, DEW625EK at D&M Tools this is my one at £239 its a steal, i think they were high 400s when they came out
  10. festool is expensive and you would be lucky to find a second hand router in perfect working order for less than a new makita or dewalt. i have a 1/2 inch dewalt, the slide or plunge and the motor are strong. the other bits like handles and depth gauges could be that little bit more if you know what i mean. other than that its worked very well for me in all weather and with multiple users. so dewalt or trend(same router with a few improvements) great for starting up but theres better on the market, what are you looking to spend?
  11. ooh very good!
  12. good job! not my cup of tea but i always love these unusual projects
  13. thanks give em a call on monaday
  14. Hi. Has anyone got a phone number for Dundonnell sawmill near ullapool? I have heard they are closing down and would like to see what equipment is left if any. The numbers online and the website are down so if i could contact the owner that would be great. Thanks Graham
  15. slowing down with the firewood and moving into the bespoke house building game
  16. or Nightsearcher SOLARIS LITE 36 Ah LI-ION 14K lol
  17. the trio night searcher is a good buy at £30 ish. a good all rounder, got one in each vehicle
  18. slowly getting there! going to lower the bench by around six inch and extend the table by 10ft then build in log turners so one person can handle large logs and most importantly cut 26'. it was starting to look like my fathers stenner, sitting under a tarp in the rain never to work again so about a month ago i decided its going together, start digging! lol
  19. Hi guys, are industrial roller doors tough enough to keep out thieves or idle youths? there is no obvious hinges or exterior locks to cut, i accept that you will never stop them all but we have to try they wouldnt normally be my first choice in terms of security but the doors are for the log hauls on a sawmill where normal folding doors are impractical. also if the standard locks are pants i should be able to beef them up thoughts and other options welcome! thanks
  20. it helps if i actually read the OP and not the title of the thread:lol: £60 would be for use of splitter plus fuel, travel and labour of about £15 per hour so £200+ ish
  21. has anyone on here actually used one? it would be good to see how they do in the real world
  22. fly spray= no fleas. then a good wash
  23. first truck is the ldv and probably the cheapest and toughest truck you can buy, has the Peugeot engine and bomb proof gearbox, top speed 45mph down a hill. got it with 21k second is an iveco 35c12 bought this at auction for £1600 with only 60k on the clock, again virtually new truck and has breezed through two mots. the best place to get truck is at a council auction because there is 40-50 trucks that make around £300 - £2500.
  24. when i was 19 my ldv was 500 with the post office that wasnt too long ago when insurance on the equivalent little car was around the 3k mark
