  1. Hi Rob do you do the back handle version in this saw?
  2. Yes nice attempt there. My advice for carving mushrooms is start them upside down. Carve the stem then flip them over and round off the tops.
  3. I thought it was a nice piece.
  4. I'm a 32 waist have the medium trousers and they are a loose fit round the waist fine with a belt. Comfortable around the legs in 17yrs there my best trousers to date.
  5. I have the pfanner gladiator ventilation I like them they are still hot but are def better than previous pairs. I usually have the sip progress.
  6. Yes well done mate a worId cup brought home. I was following the comp thought it was a great theme. Really liked Bob kings sculpture as well. All you pro's are very inspirational.
  7. Sand blast Flip them over and put a piece of second hand glass on top of the root worth a fortune to the right buyer.
  8. I was working right next to part of the race today such a buzz and very inspirational well done to your sister and big congratulations to everyone that took part great to think of how much money gets raised for charity's across the board.
  9. Just thought I'd bump this up as its marathon day tomorrow. I'm sure even the smallest of donations would be much appreciated. Good luck to Nikki doing her run tomorrow.
  10. Quick carving for a school last week in my tea break as a thanks for using our services it's located in the school woodland area where they go and explore for wildlife etc.
  11. Hi guys/gals it's new harness time again I've been through a fair few over the years. But my last was a petzl sequoia one of the 1st not much padding but pulled in all the right places and am sad to have to retire it. We have a new sequoia as a rescue harness but I just don't like it there are adjustments near the d rings to move the bridge further up to put more support on your back but I found they kept coming loose and ending up as long as they could be if that makes any sense. By this happening I found that there was loads of weight on my legs a very uncomfortable climb. So being in the market for a new harness I just thought I'd ask for some recommendations from you all that have given some other brands a good testing. Cheers
  12. Be upfront with him we pay good experienced guys less on the books and subbies less than £100 and we are in south London. I often think the lads are worth more. If he's a good mate then a simple heart to heart explaining that lots of other places don't pay anywhere near that price for someone on the ground explain that to grow the business profits are needed for advertisement insurances premium increases additional kit breakdowns upgrades etc. If he's willing to invest his own money working alongside and being trained by you to help achieve relevant qualifications for him to become a longer term asset to you then a small increase could be considered.
  13. One of our guys just got the new Stihl posted above they do look very smart.
  14. I think the old logo was more iconic. Perhaps not necessarily household recognised but the potential was there. I'm sorry to say this imo is a bit of a let down and perhaps a refreshed version in a similar format would have been wiser. However I'm sure if this is what is in place now that it will become recognisable once more. It's a great company and the logo won't detract from the excellent work they do.
  15. Sweet chestnut would be good great for harvesting and will make a nice coppice wood.
  16. Lol and they will stop a few of the filings going in your eyes.
  17. If your not great at sharpening then fair enough it looks like a thought out piece of kit. I'd sharpen two dull chains in the time it would take me to go round with that.
  18. Are the clutch springs intact? If so they still may well need replacing and there cheap and easy to change.
  19. Good luck to Nikki and a great charity. Hope your doing well Sean.
  20. It depends what and where you are in the crown if your going straight up it self tends If you redirect your rope every time you go out on a limb it will self tend if you have a slack loop that you've pulled out to pop out on a limb it doesn't self tend as easily.
  21. I'm loving the blue tongue at the moment it's my 1st rope with the zig zag and im glad I went with others advice to pair them up. I've not noticed much bounce at all maybe on a very quick decent. Did a huge beech Monday lots of long limb walks if it was just a little heavier it would self tend Nicley it does at times def. when wet. Also dries quite quickly lol.
  22. Damn it thought this thread was going to be exciting!!!! 😉
