  1. Thanks for the info mate I'll try not to make a mess on my 1st piece lol. I think I'm getting a set of new palm chisels. But I'll certainly look for some old Skool as well.
  2. Nice one looks great. I love the way you talk about it's not your style anymore. I truly wonder wether as I will ever settle with one. I know I'm in a set style at mo. But I also know it's likely to adapt and change. I'm getting a flexcut carving jack and some different palm chisels for Christmas not with the intention of incorporating the use of them within my chainsaw carvings really more about having a go at smaller detailed hand carves. But I've got a feeling I'll end up incorporating them into my new carvings in the future that's what's exciting. Do we ever stick to a style or is every piece an ever evolving process of us trying new things to satisfy are creativity. I love seeing your stuff Dave and look forward to seeing more.
  3. Had a great day yesterday and managed to sell a few pieces. There were 5 live subjects that were great to see up close.
  4. He would have to change to a quater pitch chain changing the sprocket and the oil pump drive. The chain does run slacker and a carving bar not really suitable for larger felling. Better off buying a ms150 for reductions and thinning type work. I just use a silky personally but a lot of guys rate the 150.
  5. Love those goodpig. It's almost like they're refined and then cut again beautifully done.
  6. Yeah great idea on the hoover that will go nicely with the ironing board I've got her. Yeah get cracking with the chainsaw carving mate. I'm defo getting some gloves not sure I'll find any piking gloves in my fishing gear never caught any bigger than jacks.
  7. Haha that's funny mate I just ordered it and was writing the post and yours came up. That's a great carving love it.
  8. Thanks guys I ordered one of these today £70 off from Axminster tools. I think it's going to be perfect as I just want to carve a few small bits in my breaks.

  10. Hi sorry I know we've prob had this thread a million times I had a quick search and couldn't find enough to help me. So I would like an as powerful as possible detailing electric saw. That is capable of doing the odd meaningful cut. Are cordless any good battery life and power etc. I'm going to start carving in a tin barn and want as little noise as possible. Any help much appreciated.
