  1. Ok thanks tony I was hoping to actually try and do it quicker than the course time. I did the Rfs in 2 months.
  2. You get used to it your wet when it rains your wet when its hot. Take some other trousers for when you've finished using the saw and just raking up etc. all u can do its keep yourself hydrated.
  3. Your having a laugh mate. 😂
  4. Ha my thoughts exactly. Like your style tho fella I've buried a few large lumps in my time, trees that is not big women they've buried me. Lol
  5. There cool look like 100% chainsaw as well. Apart from the bench that is.
  6. Man up I've use the stiffest vegetable scrubbing brush I can find bit of soap grit your teeth and the jobs done been doing this for 16yrs don't even think about it now plus the brush is good 4 cleaning your nails too.
  7. I know fella I just wouldn't wish subsidence on any1 can be pretty costly not just to nature. Whole heartedly agree on preservation and conservation of trees and hate it when I see a healthy tree taken down or butchered.
  8. Sorry this was harsh and it was only in jest but it is something that should be considered a possibility in the future.
  9. You'll have more luck posting on the chainsaw carving wall!
  10. Hi guys any info would be greatly appreciated tried ringing a few colleges today. But to little avail I've been a tre surgeon for 16yrs and have only my Rfs to back me up on theory I'm looking to do the abc level 4 but would like to self study for it as I can't afford a day off a week! I work most Saturdays and some Sundays I'm carving so I only have my evenings to spare. (Poor kids they'll see me 1 day).
  11. Ok I maybe able to do this. I don't have much stock but I want to go to the show anyway. Justin can you pm me some contact details so we can have a chat. Cheers Phil
  12. With any luck it would be causing subsidence to your property Lee.
  13. Well if its 2 rough sawn benches ie. taking out 90 degrees then if I lived near by I'd do it for you. Unfortunately I'm down in surrey. If you wanted something artistic ie. some arms etc. then your prob need to double your price and will be better off asking a carver in the chainsaw carving section.
  14. Best bet is call a mobile miller if your trying to make furniture the cuts need to be straight and level this will be more than £100. Tbh I don't think your going to get what you want out of these there primary value is as firewood. Perhaps you could advertise them on the firewood section. If you would like a keep sake possibly keep a piece that maybe carved into a sculpture. If you got some money for it as firewood (wouldn't be much I'm afraid) you could put this to buying some pre cut timber from your local mill and still make your own furniture.
  15. That's nice mate I like the books I'd like to do some.... When I get the chance!
  16. I maybe interested in a piece if it could be lifted on to a truck for me. I unfortunately have no means of lifting large timber.......YET!!!
  17. I agree with Steves spec. Even if he didn't want to have the thin done, basic reduction of target branches that may make contact with the property would be advisable to prevent possible minor property damaged. As for the falling deadwood, major deadwood should certainly be removed for saftey reasons. He has a duty of care to insure that the tree is not a hazard.
  18. Been looking for a decent sanding mop any ideas where I can pick 1 up?
  19. Oh well you looking at a few hundred to get on a 3-5 day course if you click on kingswood training on the link above on jonesies post they actually by the looks of it do just a cs30 which is probably all you'd need.
  20. Nolfkngood. Got my public liability from Craft insurance Ian Wallace ltd. I think is around £80 for the year or you can pay monthly. You need to have nptc cs30, 31 for insurance.
  21. Yeah I have public liability. Just need to see if I can free up some time.
