  2. An old couple were at the alter just about to renew their wedding vowels , when. The old man turned and says. To. His wife I've just done a silent fart what shall I do ? She reples change the batteries in your hearing aid!!!!
  3. Had two 201's the 1st around a year ago when our dealer 1st stocked and the second in the last month. When we purchased the first there was a slow pickup and it felt under powered. I liked the look of the saw the av assembly and the general balance of the saw with a 14" felt good. We sent this back and it was retuned, when it was returned I still wasn't 100% happy but carried on with it 12 months went by and now if I picked up 1 of our 200's or the 201 I probably wouldn't notice any difference. Anyway we got another as mentioned this now felt like that feeling of a new 200. Revs were perfect even in larger diameter wood no struggle. So in my opinion I think there were a few small issues to begin with and they weren't to much to sort out but all in all still a decent saw that is standing the test of everyday use. I've haven't used a 150 yet but they look more like a pruning saw than a dismantler.
  4. Yeah it is a shame its not hollow but that would have been damn near impossible. I love the illusion how long did this take Si very impressive mate love the little dormer/tower chimney pot.
  5. Here here. 👆
  6. Yeah sharpen it with a round file make sure you get the right size try and keep the cutters all the same length as you would sharpening a chainsaw. If you don't know how to sharpen take it to your local tree surgeon they'll do it for you. For god sake be careful with it they are lethal and you are missing a guard if you are new to this type of equipment. I'd suggest looking up the sabertooth grinding discs they strip wood out quickly and are long lasting.
  7. I have a husky 137 with a dime tip bar I like it for fine detailing its a little heavy for long use but has a great balance on the front handle to do the tip work. I also have a back handled ms 200 with another dime tip bar and its my favourite its a little to light for some of my detailing tends to bounce a bit on hard woods when doing work with the tip which can be annoying but I just love, it's power is immense. I also use a 026 to rough out and 044 and haven't had to use the 066 yet but I want to.
  8. Thanks arbercarver.
  9. Sold 6 pieces and had orders for another 10 so all in all a decent 1st show. Didn't do a huge amount of carving, as mentioned in previous responses I did a lot of talking though just roughed out a bear and demonstrated a bit of the fur detailing. Looking forward to finding another to do.
  10. I'd go for make= pine! and model= scots! Possibly. Good work like it a lot.
  11. Very nice mate like your use of colouring.
  12. Great Day didn't realise how tiring it would be!!
  13. Better advice there than I was hoping thanks very much appreciated I had intended to do a couple of sections I've picked my self up a nice 3x6m gazebo and was going to net off 1 side to chainsaw carve in and then do the refining in the other I'm going to keep this area completely roped off (little jonny) I've also got my PL as they'd asked for it bit stuck with making a risk assessment look good but I'll just use 1 from work and fill in what's necessary therefore I'll have all generics in place etc. I have a couple of people manning the front table and have got some nice pieces. I really like the sound of the start to finish staging through maybe 5 logs Great advice guys I'll def try get a few pics as long as it looks as good as it does in my head. 😁
  14. Hi guys I'm doing my first country show this weekend and can't decide what to carve there. I'm taking around 10 finished pieces and don't want to be carving anything to big. I was thinking possibly an owl a couple of quick mushrooms. From others experience can anyone recommend things that go down well?
  15. Nice work Friar. Love the 50th
  16. Or even the area in split lol. Either way good luck of you google timber seasoning it also gives you a chart on time scales for drying. Also try steer clear of the heart wood look for rays within the annual rings as well.
  17. Slowly, Cool, dry and dark still no guarantee it won't split. I've heard of people putting timber into kilns to rapidly dry them out therefore any splitting will occur during the process to identify the best part of timber ie not the area un split.
  18. Hey Folks, Another quick one I have a fairly fancy dust mask with different filters etc. but I notice some guys use dust masks with filters on their backs this is what I'm looking for. Any ideas on what they're called??
  19. Great start. Well done. 👍
  20. Got a big juicy current bun with white icing letters on it saying stihl coming your way. 441 great saw oh and that's straight away with no mods. If the husky was meant to be modded why didn't they just do it. Oh oh it's because they blow up like the crosser will too lol.
  21. Thanks guys for the nice comments, burnt it this eve. Ready for a good few coats of oil tomorrow I'll put up some more pics when finished.
  22. Thanks guys it has taken around 5-6hrs so far over 2 evenings after work.
  23. This is another 1st for me took a little inspiration from a carving I saw on the web a little more To do to finish.
