  1. Nooo. Pto and hydraulics plus winch thats not far off the money as long as serviced. Search out new seals before fitting.
  2. You could team up with someone with a license maybe. Have to be bigger jobs i would think but more work would come and then you can sort your license out for yourself.
  3. +1 would need a good well controlled seasoning period
  4. Yes they are.
  5. I did the city and guilds full time. Paid good money for the privilege and did the same modules as nvq course only they wouldn't let me do that without an apprenticeship. Not many of those about for 30year olds! So i worked part time. I have pretty much every cert ever offered to me. Means jack all if no one will employ you. City n guilds adv carpentry/joinery/construction. Rescue first aid. Asbestos awareness. Fire fighting/warden. Rescue confined spaces 6405. Chapter 8. Fast water course. What do i do? I fit monitors on waterways and cut lawns and fix fences part time. I've paid thousands for certs. Without someone willing to give you a chance to gain the experience they mean nothing.
  6. The tipper frames with hydraulics do come up on ebay time to time. Thats the mechanism that does it all. I am running a 90 at the minute as early doors for me but going to change when time is right for me
  7. Where are you based? Also worth looking about for local auctions. There is a regular auction near me at ledbury done by pugh's. Some excellent woodworking equipment comes through
  8. They have a surprisingly high feedback rating for selling tat
  9. Mine was a cheap lil clarke 5 speed lathe. Has worked great for me so far. I have now removed the pole part and turned it facing outwards with an engineering vice and attachments for the rest.
  10. We also have the hot water pipes on roof which boosts the overall tank temp by 7% ( doesn't sound much but really is noticeable)
  11. Some of the fire and ambulance service ones are hilarious.
  12. They did a massive one at my old school
  13. I frequently have people deliberately try and drive through stop/go even with vehicles oncoming. I put the lollipop out right in their view so they will hit it if they proceed. Had some abuse but i am pretty firm point at them and back. Have also found that having too many cones is better than stretching out. Also arranging them so there is a thinning of lane or chicaning and therefore have to slow down helps
  14. Ours is similar. What we do is stack the wood around the burner. Retains heat better and dries them that lil bit. Important to have quality seasoned wood if you want to heat water too
  15. We use tripods with winch for confined spaces rescue. Had someone hit one once ( on phone)and drag it 10ft up road. Luckily guy at end had unhooked as would have killed him hitting top of chamber back of head first! Anyone had signs stolen when your backs turned?
  16. For our works ( storm drains etc) if someone gets pedantic i tell them to interfere with our works is contravening the Tidal Water And Treatment act of 1954 (TW@T ). They generally leave pronto.
  17. Unless you physically have someone stand in front of them and direct them and explain why and what you are doing and how much its costing and whether it was worth it and if the tax payer was paying and why therefore no they didn't have the right as a tax payer to byepass said directions and how the waste was being disposed of and if that was environmentally ethical and whether the tax payer would be compensated....... They'll just walk on through the middle of it.
  18. Tragedy if you give ex psycho gf number
  19. Hell i'll do it. I'm a proper survey whore i am I'll give my opinion all day long if i get paid for it
  20. If you put the 20% aside consider the excess a contingency fund for equipment etc which is tax deductible. Also handy to Have there incase you hurt yourself or have a bout of sickness
  21. I shouldn't worry. I got mine but still didn't open many doors. They all wanted cscs cards.
