  1. And always make sure you charge the scrapyard VAT when you do weigh in.
  2. Sending an unknown up an Ash tree sounds rather iffy to me. Potential disaster with dieback and its effects.
  3. It bothers me more when the phone goes quiet.
  4. Looks to me like you have rain coming down your chimney. Not that it's unusual though.
  5. Pretty sure a lot of it is down to the trendies within the M25 burning window frames and fence panels in their log burners causing excess air particles as a result.
  6. Special Branch.
  7. And rubbing their hands with glee when they realise there are more folk to screw more money out of for no reason.
  8. I am after a pukka job in my shed, mostly because it will be used for food processing (squashing apples). The floor is concrete which is over a year old so I am assuming it's not green any more. It wasn't power floated but was floated with one of those things on a long blue pole and the surface is smooth. I understand it will need grinding/polishing to get the surface ready but I am concerned about it having fibres in the concrete, will that be an issue?
  9. Ah right, so it was their service that was great rather than the bat report. That makes more sense. 👍
  10. What did they do that made you feel they had done a great job? Just curious as a bat survey is a bat survey isn't it? Apart from saying there weren't actually any bats there afterall I can't think what a great one would entail.
  11. We've had a lot of vans over the years but the Movano we had was by far the best
  12. I wore a magnetic bracelet for years, swore it stopped all my aches and pains and encouraged everyone to try one. Then one day it broke, or to be precise a blob of weld spatter landed on it and melted the plastic that held the magnet in place and it became too uncomfortable to wear. No change whatsoever from not wearing it and still isn't. When I took the bracelet off I hooked it over the top of the shower glass, then when I moved house years later I was ever so surprised to see it hung over the shower glass in the new place. Missus thought that was where I kept it so brought it and put it in its proper place.
  13. It sounds like whatever they are doing would require planning permission, you can check on your councils planning portal if any applications have been made. They would require an ecological survey to do anything and from the sound of it they are doing the opposite of encouraging wildlife, or the destruction of existing wildlife. The council are your only route really.
  14. I was hoping so but as much for fun as anything. Last year everybody ran out, now that might mean supply does not cover demand so I will make a few quid or it might mean everybody has planted millions this year and I won't be able to give them away. At the very least me and the grandkids will have some fun out of them.
  15. Yes. I fancied a pumpkin patch. I think it was 250 actually
  16. Well I’m leaving the first two and then pinch out the growing tip. Haven’t done anything yet and biggest is bigger than my fist. I planted over 200 as my first go.
  17. I am not a pumpkin expert but I believe you have to pinch out the growth after the second pumpkin is forming so it grows big rather than more leaves. That's how you get big ones. Look it up, it will be explained out there somewhere.
  18. At that time of year I would be suspecting frost rather than herbicide and I can't think of any herbicide likely to be applied at that time of year or one that would do as claimed.
  19. I thought my pumpkins were doing well but they are nothing like those triffids
  20. How are flea beetle affecting your veg? Completely wiped out my nearly ready pak choi and next doors radish.
  21. Goldens start off pretty dark and reddish, they change as they ripen. They are about the right colour and shape for Goldens, I don't think they are Spartan as they are not dark enough and the stems look too long. I will try and take pics of my apples tomorrow to illustrate. Another possibility is Gala. There are an awful lot of varieties out there, I am very familiar with probably 20 but there are loads more I wouldn't know especially older varieties.
  22. My best guess would be Golden Delicious but not easy at this time of year and from the pic. Everyone seems to say "oh no, not Golden Delicious I don't like them" but give them a chance, UK grown Goldens can be a very good apple. Have you had hail storms there because they look like they have hail damage.
  23. I would stick with the 22 and cater for the female team
  24. Which country did the wood grow in?
  25. My original post was a copy and paste off FB. Just thought I would share it on here as maybe you lot would know who’s it could be. I just happened to go past today, I don’t usually go there but was out delivering. The fb post was by someone with much more connections within the industry and no doubt he reported it.
