  1. How long was the run? Brief search pulled up a 30m CAT5e with pre assembled ends for less than £5 inc. postage.
  2. "... upside down...". You or the saw or both? And 8.2kg, gee-whizz!
  3. Well done that man, (and Jodi) for getting it all together. And to those other who made it happen.
  4. No expert here but I should imagine distance viewing will not be a problem. As the actual area we focus on, is really quite small. Most of what we see or think we see, is in our peripheral vision. Besides, when it's out, you can see the moon. How far do you what to be able to see?
  5. If you use oil and apply it with a cloth, the cloth must be lint free and not tainted by another medium, (no grubby bits or other oils). Same goes for brushes too. If its a new brush and not a 'No-loss brush', remove any loose bristles before first use. An easy way of achieving this, is to wet the new brush in water and then vigorously brush against a clean brick or clean stone, (not against cement or breeze block). Then leave brush to completely dry. During the brush's lifetime, it is doubtful it will loose any more.
  6. The British love complaining about the weather. Mind some have a lot to complain about. Besides, it's part of our heritage; mansion houses, that big clock in London, Nessie, The Angel of the North, Thomas the Tank Engine, Portmeirion, Kendal Mint Cake, Winnie the Pooh, Dyson, the OMM (formally the Karrimor), Daleks, 1066... and the weather.
  7. A trueshopping raptor, sounds like something in full flight and perhaps not to be in front of at the checkouts. The name suggests that it made some weird sense in its original language. But a translation born of some travel gizmo, has resulted in this mangled wordplay.
  8. Seem to remember, when the US police still used Electra Glides; if they went over or were dropped, they were forbidden to try to re-right them. Damn things being so heavy. The 'Classic' weighs just over 900Lbs/411kg. But the police models back then, must have been considerably heavier. (If you ever get a chance to watch 'Electra Glide in Blue', do so. A great film about hope, lost dreams and futility. Plus the scenery has a stark beauty.)
  9. Oh no! Kenny's at the top. If he were to fall, he might die.
  10. Saves having to water the garden. But I doubt there'll be a good show of tulips in the spring. Now daff, they love being soaked.

    Husky Autotune

If you can work the saw from new in some big stuff or just go at it for the first 3-5 minutes, as per user manual instruction for calibration, all is ok. Though some say they've never bothered to calibrate their 'AutoTune saws. Either way, if they run well, it's good but if the AutoTune is out for the wood being cut/attitude worked in/fuel-oil mix and you can't calibrate it yourself, then things can be awkward. But I don't see this as being different from a normal carbed saw. If you can tune it yourself, all is good. If you're not up to tuning it yourself, you may still need a trip to the workshop. From my personal point of view, it saves hassle. Though if you want simplicity. Get a Stihl with its 'M-tronic'. To calibrate one of them, it's 30secs. idling without bar & chain fitted. Now that really is the way forward.
  12. No confusion, it's raining normally.
  13. Not sure I can get really excited over the possibility of it snowing in the next two weeks. As I know I'll be out in the woods for those two.
  14. Dry now but wet on the ground. Earlier was a first for me. Not sleet but rain and hail together. Or at least it seemed that way. Just enough to get one damp, while watching the hail bounce
  15. It rather depends on the bar maker and whether or not it's a light-weight model. But a std. 15" Husky bar with .325", about 1.25kg 990g = 15" (std Husky) bar weight apx. 250g = 15" chain weight apx. 400g = avg. full fuel tank weight 390g = avg. full oil tank weight 2030g apx. total But rounded to 2kg overall. Pedant me - when I was searching for a suitable saw, I took the stated weight and added weights for required bar length, desired chain, full tanks of fuel & oil. A rough estimate for std. bar and chain, equals 83g per 1" in bar length
  16. I suppose the colour is important...
  17. The more people they qualify, the more there are to retest in five years time and hence more money in the coffers.
  18. On the whole, it's been a muggy day with light rain. Though did have an hour long downpour, during which time, 30mm of rain fell.
  19. 671, not quite Methuselah but getting there. Your grandson wouldn't be building a boat by any chance?
  20. More like this:
  21. They employ a dark knight at the crossing, who's motto is, "Non shall pass". And who's PPE is none to good but who flippantly shrugs off personal injury.
  22. Are you on a home net-group or works-group. If the group has its over server and or virus checking software, it may not be advisable to disable the checker. If it's just you on a single computer, then temporarily disabling it's anti virus, ought not be a problem. Just don't going wandering round the net without it. If you're using 'Firefox', the conflict might be one of the 'Add-ons'. Especially if you're using a pop-up blocker and 'do-not-track' add-ons. Disabling/Enabling these is easy in the 'options'. If you're using 'Linux' - I can't help you, as I know zilch about it, (well all too little).
  23. I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. But up to now, that has not been a problem.
  24. Depending on your OS, you might have to temporarily disable your virus-checker to install some Adobe software. Though 'Flash' will normally load-up without having to disable other software.
  25. If you're using a mobile Apple device, (iPad - iPhone - iPod) you're not going to have 'Flash'.
