  1. been snowing for coup;e of hours now but not settling looks to be more like sleet, then looked out and was coming heavier and bigger flakes, put some logs on fire and looked out again and couldn't see white lines on road. Think we are DOOMED never to go out agan. Oh **** just remembered got a 4x4 and live 5 mins drive from work so looks bad if I don't turn up
  2. no snow here yet warmer than last night though, local weather station saying -1 don't think we'll get much here
  3. best on the market at present is the Nexus 170 for single phase simple controls no circuit boards that can go down. I work for an engineering company and regularly buy these to sell on to customers and believe me we never have any comebacks
  4. Have a look at this set up for mobile plant tracking. Only sold through ag dealers, as Kramp who are the distributors are trade only. One version has built in battery so no need for battery on vehicle. if anyone wants to know where to get one give me a shout with area you are in and I will get name of a dealer near to you who has access to them Farm Alert
  5. This one is not far from Retford, Clay Pigeon Shooting in Blyton There is links on site to others nearby
  6. hi there nice looking shed, when you put the roof on I would advise putting a thin sheet of insulation under. I didn't on mine, even though it is an old open fronted cart shed the condensation is appaling. I am going to have to wedge some insulation between the purlins. Cause of condensation is warm air inside the structure drags the moisture out the wood and the ground and hits the cold roof. The new type thinner roofing material is a lot more prone to it than the old corugated sheets
  7. how can they contaminate if they not coupled?? good idea to change all filters though and on a regular basis we get lots of problems with Hyd circuits due to basic servicing not being carried out

think you'll find the 250 has a different chain
  9. £86 a month on gas and electricity and approx 15 cube of stacked logs with a villager log burner, burns 24/7 mostly from September till April. Only use gas for hot water and cooking and the occasional night when sub zero. Large 3 bed detatched 9" solid walls, double glazing, virtually no loft insulation as loft is compound floor so absorbs heat before it escapes. Gas boiler is a combi so too expensive to combine wood burner into ch. House is pre 1780 we can only trace that far on deeds to a change of ownership. Yes eco fans do help. I get all my wood from local farmers and friends who need a tree removing.
  10. I must point out before I start this reply that I am not selling logs but process them for my own use. Last weekend I was splitting straight into builders bags along with brother in law so we got equal amounts of wood, we ended up with 4 bags each. A buiders bag is approx 1cube,i threw mine into a cubic metre wooden box and managed to get 2-1/2 bags into box, I didn't stack them but I was carefull how I threw them. Its surprising how if you stack rather than throw the volume goes down
  11. put one in for brother in law used a stainless twi wall flue on outside he now got 2 we installed one in other room and opened old chimney. twin wal flue was easy otion in first room, went through gable end just below ceiling
  12. No North Nottinghamshire, 1 mile down road am in Lincs
  13. internet says -1 at nearest weather station about 5 miles as crow flies thermometer at top ofstairs says 21. Property was buit pre 1750 thats as far as we can trace it on deeds as a change of hands. Got gas central heating but don't use it now we put woodburner in.
  14. reading this thread reminded me of why I spend weekends collecting wood and splitting
  15. Here's one I made earlier, split 2 heaped trailers and 1 builders bag in 3hrs today. Trailers were 8x4 & 8x5 used approx 2 litres diesel
  16. easy open tap and leave for a day then drill holes at corners wher cutouts need to be then attack with gas axe, won't explode as any surplus gascan escape
  17. why not make one from an old gas cylinder if your mate handy @ welding, plenty of old cylinders kicking around
