  1. Yup, but it's exactly the same as a computer, so nothing additional Bit of background on me, I did engineering and petrochemistry at a-level, it's all simple stuff really Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. All packaged and ready to be posted tomorrow, sorry it's took an extra 2 days, been rushed off my ass! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Dan Earp's original user name wasn't from being in the forces, he never was, he just had a pet gerbil Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. You should! Everyone should! Ask your dealer Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. There isn't much in it, probably 1.5x the lifespan of a single, but remember, Andreas stihl built his models to last, the early contras came with a drain plug in the crank, and a replaceable big end bearing, amongst other stuff, such as attachments for brushcutters, soil augers, and stone cutting, the big dual ring system lasts much longer than modern types, over the years, his ideals have been swapped out for capitalism, and the reasons for the dual ring overlooked Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Easy, the oil never is completely burned off, in fact, as the petrol burns, the mix will separate until flashpoint is reached, causing it to adhere to the cylinder walls, this is also true BETWEEN the rings, otherwise even on a husky, the top of the ring would skin the plating off. Then you can factor in fuels as well, a lower octane fuel has a lower flashpoint so it lubricates better Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Why 16? What's that extra inch gonna give you? But you can get 16" powermatch and prolite Oregon bars Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Husky! The 135 has a metal clutch case, nylon mesh air filter, and clip lock top cover, I have a 236 and the 135 seems the better saw, and the stihl is about 32cc, expensive and made in china, my friend is an all out stihl guy and says the 180 just about cuts firewood Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Easy, all of the force is dissipated over one ring, putting extra pressure on it, as it has less surface area, and huskys don't do the same revs, they do more! So more wear on less surface area means it doesn't last as long, I'm really not explaining this well! Despite a thin film of two stroke oil, it is metal on metal, and a larger surface area will last longer Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Yeah, the bog roll tube things looked surprisingly robust, they had ones there that were at different rates of decomposition too, I think that like the cardboard on the thread 'to mulch or not to mulch' it would also attract worms, which would aerate the roots, meaning a healthier, faster growing sapling too Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. I use a 343r, it has tons of power, and, surprisingly for husqvarna, is really simple to repair and maintain, I recommend a 545! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. What's the cc, the HT75 was 25-27ish Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Strange you find a difference, Oregon make husqvarna bars Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Lets face it, it cuts better than a 201 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  17. The m-tronic carbs are great, they're made for stihl by husqvarna, but the old carbs, as were fitted to the first 576xp's, Tbf there really isn't much in build quality of metal parts between the two, the cylinders and pistons are made by Mahle, the carbs are from the same company, difference is, is that stihl now makes the new saws in china and uses more plastic, husky pistons have one ring (so it wears quicker) and have a better strato engine, they'll both last just as long, question is, is how quick do you want a tea break? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. It'll fit any normal sized cap, so it'll fit a 236/240 and any of the other homeowner saws, spoke about it at the APF in 2012 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. You can also buy it from... A STIHL DEALER Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. 0000 000 2102 is the part number Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. The 560 is definitely a 1 man saw, as for plastic, it has less plastic than a 362xp, I've grubbed stumps at the floor, cut with blunted chains, etc, mine still works! And as I said before, with the warranty I will try and thrash seven sorts out of it, if it still works then its great. The new stihls IMO are not as good, I have used the 261, but when a 35cc husky outcuts a 50cc stihl, you know you're onto a looser, as for reliability, it's a chance you take with any saw, I've heard as many bad /Friday afternoon stories about stihl as huskys, it's no good basing your opinion of a company by just big or small saws, stihl make massive powerful saws, but make crap below 65cc, husky make great small stuff, but favour speed over torque on the bigger saws too. Ease of maintenance and quality of parts play a big factor too, most of a stihl is plastic, but easier to fix (at a price) most of what you see of a husky is magnesium, it'll last longer, but when it breaks, it's a PITA to repair, as it'll most likely be the crank case you repair/replace Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Have you ever heard an 090 up close? Rob D was stopped from using his at certain times at the confor show, but the giant chipper, harvester and other machinery continued as they weren't as loud Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. That's a damn good pattern! Ought to be more made like that Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. I doubt very much, more likely to be thanked by the old man and asked where he can get a sharpener from Tell me where his PPE is, and why he will get injured for not wearing it Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Yes, it'll work for milling, I'd recommend a carb kit, check around the impulse area for splits and cracks, clean the muffler to get rid of any carbon, probably will need new fuel lines and filter too Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
