  1. Hi Dave, To get a purpose built for 15k will be abit of an old dog probably costing a few quid on repairs. Would it be viable to hire a purpose built forwarding contractor to extract and pay on a tonnage rate to get ride side. Then you can still hire tractor for winching and won't have the costs of running big machinery.
  2. He is a old English bulldog which is a proper one, they don't suffer from all the issues that come with a british
  3. Not big enough but there ain't much stopping a 7 stone tank when he wants a nap
  4. I have a cracker of a little lap dog. He great with kids, people and other dogs. Generally quiet loves a cuddle and scares the crap out of people. Meet Trevor

  7. It's quite a common fault if you go on the l200 forum the guys on there will be able to help. Think you will find its a costly repair/replacement engine. Trouble with the k74 is it originated from a 70's petrol engine and is a pile if crap. I have one but luckily for me it's not been to bad apart from the constant rocker gasket leaks, turbo pressure issues etc etc and the serious lack of power.
  8. I know of a few contractors who have done it in the south east England. We got round it by doing the next level of nptc/lantra tickets ie cs32 etc as long as the next unit is higher than your previous you don't need to do fisa refresher. We still have to register with them but don't need to do there version of the course.
  9. After a cracking week thinking I best look at personal injury insurance. Anyone out there got a top quality cover that actually pays out rather than the petty minimal allowances. I'm talking mortgage machine finance etc etc. Even for the repair bills/surgery costs!
  10. There has been a number of recalls, carbs chips starter pulleys and oil tank gasket depending on age. Ask the dealer when you take it in.
  11. Take it back to your dealer get the chip reset then get them to replace any of the recall parts on it. Once back remove spark arrestor and should be Ok. We run 5 of them and have no problems with any.
  12. A chap that works for has the waterproof ones and shredded his feet for about 2-3 weeks. Now the inner liner has torn out after approx 3 months.
  13. Still looking for a forwarder driver to operate 830.3 in hardwood thinnings and clear fell. Ideally FMO purpose built. For the right person might be a semi permanent position. Based around sussex and kent areas. Please call 07595290954 or pm me. Nick
  14. Try a company called abc first aid we had them for our job specific first aid dealt with forestry based injuries. A lot of major flesh cuts crush injuries and what ever else might happen when felling. They also make up kits for the industry.
  15. If anyone wants hardwood I've got bout 1000 ton on the ground. Mix of oak with little bit hornbeam or ash with birch. Can't guarantee its all available as I'm contracted to get roadside only. Can put real buyers in touch with the seller.
  16. I know where there is plenty on hardwood for sale in South east. Ash birch mix on one site oak and small amount hornbeam on another.
  17. Used the k&h triple not a bad wedge for the price. Been using hard heads but even they snap. Maybe it's time for hi lift plastic inserts!!
  18. Anyone used one? Are they any good for ground level felling?
  19. Personally I would go for a husky 365 maybe a little more ££ but one hell of a saw and will last a life time if not used on regular basis. I ran one on 18inch for about 3 years and nothing I done would trouble it. Second hand would not recommend you don't know who it's been used by and how! I know 2 second hand bought recently both duffs and weren't cheap. Be careful if that's the route you choose.
  20. I am looking for a forwarder driver with experience to operate a valmet 830.3. We are based in sussex and kent and predominantly cut hardwoods.
