  1. Blokes I cut with use semi chisel chain to cut hardwood as they say it holds a better edge. Don't see it myself always use full chisel. A hakki I used only had full chisel on it but did need sharpening at least once a day.
  2. Hi all, Need a good supplier of cord for firewood this year. Anyone got any good suggestions or numbers. I'm in East Sussex. Thanks nick

  7. Hi, wouldn't like to say as I don't get too involved in that side literally just fell at this time as am a cutting contractor.
  8. Just been thinking today what rates we all get around uk. So would like to know what you guys get and where abouts you are. Around here in sussex it's generally £15 per ton hardwood for firewood and 11-12 for softwood. For that its obviously cut to length and stacked.
  9. Just throwing in my thoughts, chap that works with us has a 550 and until the heat no problems. Complete pig to start when hot, he stripped it down and full clean especially the air filter and has seemed to sort it out. I now run a 560 with 3/8 conversion and that has had new carb coils and new software to the chip. What a saw, cuts so much quicker than standard pitch and has no running problems. Also got a 576 replaced by the 560 due to crank shearing 10 weeks to fix by the dealer. But as it was in the serial number allocation husky did the repairs free. Went to use it the other day now back at dealer due to carb malfunction. Again when it runs its a beast of a saw. Hopefully they can sort the issues as the 5 series saws are brilliant when they work.
  10. This is not a full time job it's for occasional felling works as they come up.
