  1. Anyone actually been to a fracking site? I've been to a few, some capped and inactive and balcombe when the protests were going on. It can only be a good thing for the uk, ridiculously cheap energy and lots of it. I'm sure the EA are involved as caudrilla are heavily regulated for pollution control. Rightly so. If or should I say when it becomes properly active in the uk the results will be benficial to our country.
  2. It's done the tracks are ordered. Set of 28mm terra with the additional stud welded on so every track has 2. Hopefully they will climb.
  3. I run forest riders on the front which are the tractor tread apparently different to trs not that I can see it. Am edging toward the terra with an extra stud. The single track does look a good option.
  4. We are on 6-8 inch of soil turns to slop with a drop of water then down to Flint/stone which is hard as nails. There's nothing on reads as yet but if needed would be chains. On 710 45 26.5 non water ballasted. The 911.4 seems to be a good climber anyway but this is quite a difference in gradient to what we did earlier in month. The wood is big and there's a crap load to do.
  5. Yes they are the boron alloy steel tracks. Basically the difference is the traction and flotation but clarks say terra a good climbers and good floaters both 4* yet Komatsu say grouzer are better all rounder at 4*climber and 3* floaters.
  6. hi all Getting a new set of tracks for the harvester got 2 options available the terra lite and grouzer lite. Any ideas which is a better option? They are being used for some slope work clarks say terra Komatsu say grouzer.
  7. As all have said oil is oil. If your that bothered return it order the OREGON from clarks next day delivery and it's cheaper. If I'm right spend over £50+vat and delivery is free. Problem solved without ranting about a company and trying to slow there sales.
  8. I agree with balsa weighs a ton in .6m3 bags when I sell them for wine money
  9. Fc use cheap ones quite a lot attached to trees to keep an eye on lorry activity etc. don't think to many get pinched if any. I'm sure that you also have to but signs up warning them that cameras are in use for it to be used in court, if it goes that far. Claymores are the answer.
  10. Was thinking of something similar for catching the bastards vandalising my machines but can't decide if it's worth it. Will police use it to charge them? Doubt it and would they just get nicked at the time of damage. Was thinking of 12 bore poachers mines to scare the crap out of them but in public areas probably not a great idea. Did here of a chap using them round his log yard and never got any grief after they went off a few times. Maybe be worth it if your securing yards.
  11. Hi all, Anyone got any good options for trial cams? Need a couple to monitor machines over night/weekends. Thanks
  12. Hi all, My brother in the oil game up scotland and called me last week to say fill everything up with kero and red in jan/feb as the low won't last much longer than spring/early summer. After that I will go up again to compensate are for the low prices. There budgets for this year dropped from 1.3 billion to 770 million and a lot of his colleagues out of a job. As to cutting we flat out with hardwood cutting at min and only half way through the beech thinning on fc land. As soon as that's done onto another hardwood and softwood fell. So the answer seems to to be no the bigs boys aren't slowing for know and still want it cut. Maybe to stock pile for next winter and sell as semi seasoned.
  13. Thanks for the replies chaps will be in touch once I have better idea of when I'm aloud to return back to site.
  14. HI all, As per title i wouldn't normally put posts of this style on a open forum but this is an exception. I am the typical wood cutter, will generally work no matter what the weather or what the injury. Have continued to work with a broken foot, missing front teeth, more recently fractured arm and the normal illness we all suffer. He comes the BUT this weekend i had a very scary situation arise. I was out with the other half and a couple of friends for a few drinks nothing too hardcore but getting very merry was on the cards. A few pints in and a vodka down the hatch i started to get very very pissed, like the embarrassing person we all laugh at but this was different i hadn't had enough to be falling over and slurring heavily. An hour later i had walked home feeling very ill, got home and was sick a good few times. Then something strange happened i lost all feeling and use of the right side of my body couldn't string a sentence together and had a extreme stutter. The missus called an ambulance which took me away blaming it on the booze, but the doctors where not on the same page. I was having a stroke at the age of 32. Just bought new machinery got young family how could this be happening. There was no explanation and the hospital concluded it was a TIA (mild stroke) all my scans came back clear with no lasting clots. The uses of my right side had returned and my speech is near normal but i have to concentrate on not stuttering and using the right words. As per anything like this i am now banned from driving for a month, this i can get round but working is gonna be slightly different. So what I'm asking is, id there anyone in the sussex area or further afield with FMO to extract behind the harvester using my 830.3 for maybe a couple of weeks or if they have there own rig and need to keep it working, be willing to help out.. Please get in touch. Thanks Nick
  15. Didn't see that myself. No that's the old girl traded off for this one. Previous owner was fastidious with repairs and maintenance hence its in show room condition
  16. It's a 2010 model but been well looked after by previous owner.
  17. Shame it's not for me. Treated my driver to a newer toy.
  18. It's not about being different it was curiosity to what the difference between the 2 are. In my opinion it's a better saw the the 560. If or when it explodes I will compare the internals to the smashed to poop 560 in the workshop. Could it not be that the 562 is ported at factory like Stihl do with the magnums. As to the uk air the chap that works for me imported a 372xtorq 4-5 years ago and had a hard life pointing strainers and finally gave up with a bad 2 stroke mix using cheap oil.
  19. Easy just order one off eBay item number 231376703082 is the company I got mine. It's was £444 and then import charges took it up to £576 delivered. Took about a week to get.
  20. I've had mine about a month and it rips the arse out of a 560. Been using it on 24 inch 3/8 chain and it cuts as quick as a uk 560 on a 18inch 3/8. Is slightly heavier than 560 but whatever is different in engine/carb the saw is an animal. Husky should ditch 560 and bring the 562 here. Physical differences bigger air filter but apart from that looks the same. Doesn't come with double spikes as standard but put some on last week and it makes cross cutting bigger wood a lot easier. Biggest advantage apart from power is if you run other bigger huskys you can change the bars if one breaks, hence I ran a 24 for a couple days whilst waiting for the new 20inch Sugihara to arrive. I have had 2 560s son can comment on the power difference both on 3/8th also.
  21. Best bet hire coppards skid steer mulcher it's a good little machine if used correctly. Quick easy and no messing.
  22. Still looking for the above as once again been let down. Production hardwood cutting alongside harvester and extracting when required or other way round depending on experience. Ideally cs30,31,32 or lantra equivalent and fmoc but can work round it for the right candidate. Work is South East area. Self employed basis but will be full time. Please call 07595290954 or pm me. Thanks nick.
  23. I use certas energy/southern counties fuel
  24. Just paid 50p a litre in Sussex on 1000ltr And not in a fuel group
