  1. 830 will perhaps be my next machine since I can't find a TJ810 either! Failing that it will be an 840 or 5F. elmsdown - SH from Logset had your 830 on his radar last time he emailed me; I've been looking for a new forwarder for some time; wanted a Rottne F12 but the early bird caught the worm and I was too slow. SH did have it on his radar this week as was looking at the logset 5f but reluctant due to rear bunk extension being weak. I know the 840 at rcfm been worked really hard all its life and don't want to go that big. Wouldn't mind a rottne myself but just don't exist for the age and hours I want.
  2. I use a valmet 830.3 and have lots of different sizes of hard wood and always gat asked for 2.3-2.5 for the end user so it's still manageable for 1 man to lift. At these lengths whether it a 8 wheeler or artic they always run at maximum weights which keeps them happy as well. With the 830 that will squeeze on 2 bays of 2.5 which is a little heavy ideal size is 2.3.
  3. Good luck. Looking to upgrade my forwarder at the minute and there's only a few machines around, and they seemed to be sold before they hit the trader.
  4. Surely that's with holding evidence which, if I'm right is a crime in its self!! Maybe your involved as you clearly have issues with the victims family.
  5. Your right it may not be a advertising forum but I know there is a lot of guys on here who can't afford to pay our over inflated prices for new gear. My thoughts were to try help out someone who is starting up or not able to stretch to a out the box saw. I'm offering a high quality cheap 6 month old saw which is also on arb trader. Also didn't ask for your opinion on what was a better power unit.
  6. Seen the pictures of that looks a strong bit of kit.
  7. Hadn't really thought of a ponnse. Always seen pictures of them with snapped cranes.
  8. Not necessarily for the clam bunk but the only one I've found used has the rear bunk as the clam bunk. Could be handy. What I'm after is a compact machine that can hold about 12ton but has good engine power for slope work.
  9. Hi all Looking at replacing my 830.3 with possibly a Welte w140 forwarder/clambunk combo or hsm 208f 11/12 ton. Anyone used either and are they better than your normal Deere 1010e or Komatsu 840tx.
  10. Selling my 562 power unit as not needed anymore works well and in excellent condition. Runs the bigger d009 Oregon mount bars and easily pulls a 20inch chain, has the larger American double spikes. £300 for a 6 month old saw and can be taken to UK dealer for any re mapping. 07595290954.
  11. I use either gates for the 3/8th rotator or Stauff for anything larger. Both very good prices and about a 1/3 of hydra ripoff or pirtek.
  12. It's up to 32 here again today so sat by our pool have a couple of cold ones..... Life is hard sometimes....
  13. Just a little 15 hectare seed fell of some final fell scots. Slightly to big really for the machine but we will manage.
  14. Been unusually hot her yesterday at 32 today was about 28 with a nice breeze. Currently 19 and looking at 28-30 again for tomorrow.
  15. Today's forecast is 28 with a chance of thundery showers early evening. Think I'm in for a hot day here in sunny Florida.
  16. Arrived today. Now ready for the slopes.
  17. Anyone actually been to a fracking site? I've been to a few, some capped and inactive and balcombe when the protests were going on. It can only be a good thing for the uk, ridiculously cheap energy and lots of it. I'm sure the EA are involved as caudrilla are heavily regulated for pollution control. Rightly so. If or should I say when it becomes properly active in the uk the results will be benficial to our country.
  18. It's done the tracks are ordered. Set of 28mm terra with the additional stud welded on so every track has 2. Hopefully they will climb.
  19. I run forest riders on the front which are the tractor tread apparently different to trs not that I can see it. Am edging toward the terra with an extra stud. The single track does look a good option.
  20. Imported 562 here also gets my vote.
  21. We are on 6-8 inch of soil turns to slop with a drop of water then down to Flint/stone which is hard as nails. There's nothing on reads as yet but if needed would be chains. On 710 45 26.5 non water ballasted. The 911.4 seems to be a good climber anyway but this is quite a difference in gradient to what we did earlier in month. The wood is big and there's a crap load to do.
  22. Yes they are the boron alloy steel tracks. Basically the difference is the traction and flotation but clarks say terra a good climbers and good floaters both 4* yet Komatsu say grouzer are better all rounder at 4*climber and 3* floaters.
