  1. Very positive there! I like it, it's also quite confidence inspiring too as I'm currently trying to set up, keep it up, sounds like your going places!
  2. I'm a little worried now, mine doesn't appear to be on that chart
  3. Here's a link to all the different new numbers and what they mean NPTC
  4. And cs38 on my card which came a couple of weeks ago is 002013
  5. They have changed more than just the numbers, assesment schedules have also changed, cs38 is now access of tree using ropes and harness and aerial rescue and you can pass or fail each individual unit
  6. Agreed Taupotreeman! And thats a very instructional vid. I personally am not going to be using a ladder for tree work, just think there's too much that could go wrong.
  7. Problem with that is the tires and trying to get it to tip over the top of them also the nose weight and forward axle loading when the chip bog is loaded
  8. Hey guys, due to the towing capacity of my truck I am quite limited on weight, there for I decided I would mod a trailer to save as much weight as possible and to accommodate a chipper at the front of the trailer and a tipping chip box at the rear. Picked my self up a nice 9x6 trailer with a beaver tail and have got round to making a start today so thought I'd post some pics up of my progress so far. Here's the original trailer First step was to start stripping weight and remove the main bed leaving me with just the chassis Next step was to reinforce the chassis with 60x40 channel iron and prep the base of the chip box using a section of the original bed As soon as it arrives I shall be mounting an electric hydraulic ram under the bed as the tipping system and I shall upload more pics when I have got a bit more done to it. Also, if anyone has any lightweight and not too expensive suggestions for what to use for the sides of the chip box that would be gratefully received, I was thinking along the lines of some sort of weld mesh. 9. Loved bonsai for many years and this thread is getting me watching all kinds of videos, gonna go and start a bonsai form a nursery juniper as this appears to be the easiest way to get started...watch this space
  10. The 550xp gets a thumbs up from me, absolutely blinding saw!! As for a top handle, unless your willing to wait and eternity for the legendary item that is the t540xp I would plum for the 201t, the 201t seems to have pretty mixed reviews but it would seem it is down to personal preference and weather your willing to ignore the negative to the point of buying and finding out for your self.

I love pancakes personally I think you shouts fill it with as much as poss, I have quarter of a banana, walnuts, cranberries, maple syrup, golden syrup, sliced mars bar and a cream of some description
  12. Looks like a converted tracked dumper to me, we had a couple with post knockers on the back
  13. Been chipping thorn and walnut. I shall hae a good go through it all this week an see what I can come up with, as mentioned before about the throttle, it did have a new throttle cable so I wonder if it maybe needs adjusting a little
  14. I believe I am, it had a full service before I got I so I assume everything is okay
  15. That's throwing it further/better than mine
  16. I bought a jo beau m500 a short while ago and it isn't throwing chip anywhere near as far as I feel it should, was just wondering what things affect chip throw. Would just like to add that the blades were sharpened before I got it so they have hardly done any work, wondered weather blade to anvil gap made a difference? Also if anyone has any videos of a jo beau m500/m400 so I can compare that would be great
  17. That would all get torched where I live
  18. New transfer box makes a differance to the mpg and is the only reason I'm able to sensibly run large tires, with the new tranny box and those tires there is no difference to the standard gearing in high range and I don't see how lift would affect mpg, it's hardly any extra weight and doesn't alter gearing
  19. Well surely, the more chip you can take away per load=more efficient=worth more? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong in thinking that but that's how I would see it.
  20. Some people really do under charge! If I had lr chipper and I was climbing I'd be charging my self out at 250 a day at least!!
  21. sorry to hear this, makes me upset and angry when I hear of this happening, my eyes are pealed. Hope your insurance sorts it soon!
  22. Haha I've left lands standing with my little Suzuki, it really is surprising, light weight means you don't sink and with a decent set of mt's they just grip and go!!
  23. Them old sj's are bomb proof if you et a good one
