  1. An Ash in a park in Sidmouth that had failed in the main stem at about the 3 metre mark. Daniel.
  2. Cleared a snapped Popular limb in Killerton House's gardens. Free'd up some snapped out limbs on by far the tallest tree I've worked in to date. I was cutting around the 65/70 foot mark. Daniel.
  3. Our first of the day was in Branscombe. What you can't see in the photo is that a road runs directly underneath. Our second was in Budleigh Salterton. It was a miracle the overhead lines weren't torn down as the tips were resting on them. Daniel.
  4. I've had a pair for about 6 months now. Not overly impressed. Spikes slip from around the sole, I've metal clasps snap and finally the first proper heavy prolonged spell of rain we've had since owning and my feet were soaked. I've rather anally cleaned and treated them every two weeks too! Daniel.
  5. As the title states I'm looking for a splicer, I have 2 short lengths of New England Tachyon (20 metres) that I would like spliced. The rope is approximately 6 months old. Thanks for any response. Daniel.
  6. Unfortunately the world we live in doesn't favour sustainability and that's true of clothing also. If it was reasonable to source environmentally friendly clothing I'd be all for it but I'm only a trainee Arb at the end of the day. I don't have any issues with man using animals to suit his needs as long as they're relative but I think that any wild animal losing it's life so a wealthy woman can wear it is a tad to to far. Daniel.
  7. I think there's a fair bit wrong with wearing the skin of a wild animal for fashion. Daniel.
  8. Great video, great choice of song (also used in a BMX film by Etnies called Forward). Daniel.
  9. Just finished it. Very good! Daniel.
  10. I acquired a nice burr off a Cherry on Monday and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to wether it needs seasoning before turning into a bowl? Daniel.
  11. Here you go guys. http://www.isa-arbor.com/events/conference/proceedings/2013/CARPENTER_Caring_for_Your_Body_Arborist_News_Feb_2013.pdf Daniel.
  12. Wasn't there an ISA article on exactly this? Somewhere in the region of 4500 for a climber and 3500 for a groundsman? It also described Arboriculture as a very unique industry by just how physically demanding it can be and went as far as to call Arborists Industrial Athletes. Daniel.
  13. I'm a huge Batman fan and I absolutely loved this! Great work and great video Simon! Daniel.
  14. I'm based in Exmouth Josh and I'd be interested in tagging along?
  15. Congrats. I've got my CS39 at the end of August. Daniel.
  16. What's happened to the new tiny XRSE's? I think that's what they called. Supposedly out in June? Daniel.
  17. I have a 32" waist and recently bought a pair of the Pfanner Gladiator Ventilation's in small. Snug as a bug! Daniel.
  18. I recently completed my CS38 and climbed during the assessment on a eye-to-to friction cord tied into a Distel. I asked my instructor and assessor beforehand and they both said as long as you can prove your competant in your chosen style and aware of older, more traditional methods l, then they're shouldn't be an issue. I suppose this requires the assesor to be familiar with your favoured technique though? Daniel.
