  1. A different type of tree climbing. Emergency job on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal.
  2. Can't wait to try this little darling on an Oak reduction tuesday!
  3. Where are you situated? I think one length of a 4" diameter could be suitable for whittling Silky handles? Daniel.
  4. As the title states I'm looking for a small amount of Yew to whittle a set of Silky handles. Ideally a cord length roughly 6 inches in diameter should fit the bill I imagine? I'm not too sure how realistic this request is as I'm learning how desirable Yew is in the wood craft world. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks. Daniel.
  5. I made a career change around this time last year (previous 4 years spent working in adult social care). I got sick of working indoors and the more I researched into Arboriculture the more I fell in love with it. I've gained CS30, CS31 & CS38 among others in the time since and would never go back to another job. Make the leap! If you're willing to work hard, learn and above all really want something I believe you'll make a success of yourself. Daniel.
  6. I've just got my hands on some lovely Cherry. I'm keen to attempt some grips. Does anybody know if the wood needs seasoning first though? Thanks. Daniel.
  7. I love the idea of this. If I hadn't recently bought a CE Lanyard I would have seriously considered purchasing this. Shame you can't fit the Sirius from the CE Lanyard in there.
  8. I started a career in Arboriculture last year at the age of 24. I gained my CS30 and was lucky enough to get employment soon after. Since then I've gained CS31 and CS38. I'd love to be able to study towards a diploma but realistically how many 25 year olds can afford three days off work a week? Sadly I think studying an online RFS certificate is the only viable option for myself.
  9. I've just bought a pair of Haix Protector Pros. I want to treat them from new. Can I use Chelsea Leather Food or do I need to use something else that lets the boots breathe as they're Gore-Tex? Cheers in advance Dan.
