  1. I really like this idea! I've seen a photo online of someone who's done it before, I'll try and post it in a moment. I'm guessing the wood has to be seasoned before whittling? I'm interested in doing this myself. Can't decide what wood to use though?
  2. Impressive post Max! With an attitude like this I'm sure you'll succeed in finding what you're looking for. Good luck pal.
  3. Cheers Le Sanglier!
  4. That's quite an interesting read Dan. I've been re-pollarding all week and throughly enjoyed myself. It's nice to get a bit of technical information in the practis too!
  5. Cheers guys! I was fairly happy with how it turned out.
  6. Yes it was. 7 years re-growth.

  8. Ha ha. Unfortunately those are the only photos I have. In all honesty though I took my time and tried to keep everything neat and tidy.
  9. As the thread title states this is my very first Pollard on a small Lime down a busy residential street in Plymouth. Feedback welcome. Please be gentle though.

  16. I thought you guys on here would appreciate this one. My first Arb themed tattoo. Not the best pic' as taken with iPhone. Daniel.
  17. Just got back from a rec' climb where I tried out using a new 5m simple lanyard setup (13mm climbing rope and Prussik loop) and I got on really well. I found it much quicker to advance using the lanyard as a second climbing system. Thanks all for the help and advice. Thought I'd post a photo from the highest crotch that I felt comfortable sitting in. Daniel.
