  1. inspired by the tutorial i got hold of the tools from one of the web sites on this thread (had a forestry axe already) split a bit of birch and this was my first attempt of carving anything ever except maybe a sharp point on a stick. i know the handle is different it just evolved like that thanks for the making the time for the tutorial
  2. im still working on my tree identification is this a myrobalan plum (cherry plumb) ? customer said flowers are white and the fruit is green the bark looks like cherry to me but I'm not sure am i way off?
  3. Are you worried about being pooped on by a lion through a fence I would imagine that they moved the lions out that pen into the other so they could collect those brown gold gas giving dirty mars bars
  4. The male is smaller than the female. the female is brown Hard to tell what it is I just thought I could see some orange coming through slightly in the pic They do like bird tables knowing there's a frequent quick meal going I normally always see them first thing in the mornings but have seen them at different times I will look out for the next pic rob so we can confirm (or not)
  5. Will have to wait for a better pic I guess I would put good money on a sparrow hawk tho Even tho it's fuzzy if you zoom in the head markings say its a sparrow hawk to me in my humble opinion
  6. I see what your saying To me it looks like it has just ruffled it's feathers Maybe this pic will help Wildlife Photographic Diary by Alan Saunders
  7. It's a bad pic but look under the eye On a peregrine it has dark cheeks on a sparrow hawk the head markings run under the eye Also the Brest looks tinged more orange bared Google both birds and compare And sparrow hawks have daily flight paths that the generally stick to if food is plentiful which this bird seems to be doing
  8. I'm sure you saw it better than the pick shows but I have to ask is it not a male sparrow hawk ?
  9. Wouldn't want to be without ash trees it's a sad case

  14. I tape thick cardboard around the doors with duct tape and for the floor I bought a few packs of anti fatigue foam flooring it locks together and is non slip Think I got it out of costco but there is loads online if you google it It works really well for me

  21. Good idea having a big rubber stamp like that
  22. Yeah I sort of understand And the only downside would be dropping a saw you don't like so. . . if it works for you. I couldn't not have it without a strop I'm already on the cliff edge
  23. Always nice to see how people work How do you find not having your saw not attached to a strop when cutting is it habit or do you find it more Free to use
  24. Pros and cons for a beloved pet I guess but when they look at you with those eyes all is forgiven every time
  25. Do you not sell softwood logs? some recent threads talking about the merits of softwood. Or do you find advertising hardwood sells best?
