  1. the weight of the rope is crazy at that height!
  2. yes, New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia USA. It is a 856 ft rappel (about).
  3. I think because I have never used one it is a more free feeling. Although I could see if I had used one, that I would feel an almost panic feeling with not having one...... I think I may feel that way due to when ever I am near an edge at height and not on rope my heart is beating harder, when on rope no real fear felt.
  4. hahahaha!!!! I think it may be the saw (that I hate) and some of your drinks
  5. Top of this tall oak was dead. It had no center leader just two leaders that arched away from each other making a high point for a tie in at the same point that was needed to be cut. Cool climbs. The second climb, the cut got hung up in another oak top making for a third climb to cut that out... what are you gonna do sometimes. Climb Safe.
  6. I put this up because I see alot of "how I anchor" but not to many "how I would over come if" vids. The RIG is a popular choice due to its user friendly function. This is how I use it and what I do when you run out of rope during a rescue lower. The video picks up at the point that I have reached the end of the climbers line but the climber still has a bit of distance to still be lowered. This is one of many ways to do it for sure, I tryed to keep with tools that most climbers already have ie: the Bee-line cord for a hitch. Climb Safe.
  7. Was asked my thoughts on how to hook up a strap or upper body rig for tending the slack while ascending. Wasnt the first time I was asked so thought there may be more new comers to climbing or just SRT that may have the same question. Short vid of my answer and why think the way I do about it. 8. Arran, with the way that the rope runs through the RIG you would need the foot loop above the RIG or just use RADS. Foot loop for long ascents and RADS for short. If you are just climbing limb to limb with your arms and legs though the RIG is great on its own. I use a 11mm line and it is as smooth as butter! That also makes limb walks great too.
  9. Thanks Apbell, will try and keep good vids coming. Hope all is going well for you.
  10. Had enough questions about the how and why to my harness setup that I put it up on a vid. May make for conversation. Climb Safe. my harness setup - YouTube
  11. some work from this past week.
  12. Thought I would share with all of you. Climb Safe Rock Exotica _The Bolt_ - YouTube
