    I cant get a parts list up for that machine but I very much doubt that you can buy that part, it probably only comes with a carburettor attached to it.

    Well, there is no vat on Scottish £50 notes because they are all fake so technically, yes.

    That about sums it up. It doesn't matter whether you are vat registered or not it only matters on who the PPE is for. It's only for boots and helmets/complete helmets, other PPE has vat on it.

    This might sort out your stihl blower issue, its a very common problem. If the gasket isn't holed then its either put it in an ultrasonic cleaner and hope for the best or buy a new carb. On the Stihl's sometimes the plugs fall out of the plastic plate under the primer bulb which can cause the same issue.

    It looks like there are two different motors for the 200, they have different part numbers and covers than the 220 and the electronic module is different too. So even if the motor does fit you may not get any additional power due to the different control unit. I've attached the parts diagram for the 200 showing the different motors and a completely different type of electronic module and an attachment for the 220 msa 200.pdf 220.pdf

    If you do buy the MSA 300 then remember you need the AP 500 S or it will only run on half revs. A customer of ours has the 300 and the 220, although he says the 300 has plenty of power the 220 gets used way more often.

    I didnt think the screw caps connected to the case with just the ball tbh.

    You can pull the leg part off which leaves you with the ball. Which exact model of stihl do you have?

    Poor compression usually shows by lacking in power, hard to start when warm, nearly impossible to start even and it wont tick over. If its cutting out as though its been switched off then I think that you still have an electrical fault somewhere. Does it start up straight away, tick over and still has plenty of power?

    Any luck in sourcing the problem? Ive seen a couple of MS 201's where the spur has came loose from the drum.

    I've seen a couple of bad ones and a few rim sprockets that have split in half but I've never seen a spur sprocket that bad!

    I thought that if you say use an updated coil, or the numbers on the unit where different then the firmware needed updating as it always asks which ignition unit is fitted. Good to know that it doesn't matter.

    Welding a chain is a new one on me! Honey brothers and l s engineering stock the tie straps, Ive directed a few customers to them in the past. I'm sure that they will stock the tie straps for the little Stihl chain.

    Just follow the HT lead back from the sark plug. It will end up at the coil which is located behind the starter cover to the left. The coil has some number on it, this is an example 581 72 36 02. Its best if you match the coil numbers otherwise you may have to take the machine into a husky dealer to get them to update the autotune. Replacing the coil on the mark 1 is a bit of a job IIrc, although I may be mixing that up with the 560. To make it easier you can cut the wires from the coil and join them to the original wires on the machine.

    If they are cutting weight by adopting the 500 crankcase design then I can see it working out quite well.

    Buy that! It is way under cost price. It looks like its the mark 1 but its still a massive bargain. Its a detuned 560xp

    I would try running the machine at tick over on the ground then moving/twisting the handle, engine housing, shaft, throttle handle etc looking for a wire shorting out somewhere.

    I bought this book a couple of years ago for my eldest. Its definitely worth buying as the kids love it. A great little stocking filler purchase for this time of the year.

    Thats a really good tip from Matty. I did the same when the 57dl chains weren't available off the shelf. If you drill the bar you can use 56 or 57 dl chains.
