  1. Anyone got a heads up of what's in the final paper? Can't find the old thread on it so thought it best to start again. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-46823440
  2. In the world of windsurfing the Wind Wizard is held in high regard but I just use a cheapy off Ebay. Perception of wind speed and reality can be quite different.
  3. Where is it going?
  4. You need to opt-out. Dead easy
  5. Tips covert perfectly just but most fall through the sieve! I do tend to cut off the worst of the spray. Still trying different things as not been at it long. As to the retort thus far avoided sharing it all as I have moments when I think it might make me a few bob and then there is the rest of the time haha. Not got any pictures to share at present but when I do they will go on here for sure.
  6. Yes, the ones I have had just have had either small metal brackets hooked over cage frame and screwed in or screws going through the metal into the pallet. Some of the wooden pallets need some extra slats as the gap in the middle can be too big and logs escape.
  7. Fine so far. It's just mild steel and been left out in the weather which has more destructive than the burns themselves. To avoid it rusting away stainless would be good but comes at a price but if I make a second I will probably give it a go. Could easily run two at a time so could be converting the best part of two cubes a day.
  8. I have to store them outside and the wooden pallets have a short life but easy to replace. Not had many problems with the metal ones apart from the odd knock while learning the ropes with the new loader. If you can keep them in the dry I would use the wooden ones as they give better ventilation.
  9. Will probably just post up my idea for others to copy if they so wish. Works fine just I would probably need CE marks to sell them and that could be tricky and not sure I have the heart for that sort of thing.
  10. Looks way too good to end up in a woodburner. Try posting on the woodcraft part of Arbtalk https://arbtalk.co.uk/forums/forum/75-woodcraft-forum/
  11. They don't pull like a chipper. I did a test and holding the end you can stop it feeding. Quite handy when one end is too big to go through the machine. There is a safety bar that if you have a kill switch on the tractor you can wire it in.
  12. 10-12cm long at that diameter. You do get some smushed bits when the wood is twisty.
  13. Not of the MK11 but you can follow my musings on here
  14. I will have a measure up
  15. Mate branch logging makes great charcoal. I used to have a TR70 and made bags and bags of the stuff. Couldn't sell it for love nor money and sold it. Used the sacks over the years for making charcoal as a hobby but sales have been picking up year on year so instead of chucking all the small stuff through the processor (tedious work) decided to have another dabble with a branch logger. Having the conveyor is so much nicer than messing around with loads of small bags and the bigger capacity is a boon. Making charcoal in a retort has proved remarkably easy. Sounds like a dark art with a ring kiln but no such problems with a retort. I built my own for not a lot and keeps me out of mischief for some of the summer
  16. Yes broke a pin today when using the PTO in low range. It's only a small tractor so put it in high and it will stall before biting off more than it can chew. This as big as it can go with our wee tractor
  17. That is the other firm mentioned on here. Welmac matched their price and I have had dealings with Welmac before so happy to go with them.
  18. No clutch just a shear pin on the PTO
  19. Same machines but harder to understand salesman ?
  20. Yes, that is who I bought it through but they are not up the site yet. Not an option on log length other than choosing the 3 knife or 4 knife option and the bigger machines do a longer log length. Greenwood is best but I was processing dry slightly turned beech in the video and yes well priced IMO. It's this firms machines sold through Welmac https://remetcnc.com/?lang=en
  21. First little job on the farm for this cutting up wood for this summers charcoal. Pretty pleased with it so far.
  22. Used to be talked about quite a bit on the Green Building Forum. http://www.greenbuildingforum.co.uk/newforum/search.php?PostBackAction=Search&Keywords=hempcrete&Type=Topics&btnSubmit=Search
  23. Yes but the rest of it does have a ring of truth about it.
  24. Not rushed off our feet at present but busy enough. Our price hike has slowed things down a bit
  25. Great link and look at the numbers for an open fire!
