  1. Thats kind Khriss but I would rather just keep it for customers. We dont need any extra work anyway haha
  2. They have taken their review down now so thats a start 👍
  3. We have but it doesn't stop numpties. I have to say we get a far better quality of customer than they do from the chats I have with a few of them 😜
  4. It was google that we got the bad review through. Probably could get friends and customers to right in with reviews if need be I guess. I did reply and suggest that they might have the wrong firm and the location of the one they might be seeking haha
  5. Cant say we are keen. We have had our name for the best part of 10 years now and they just started a few years ago.
  6. It was brought to our attention some time ago that another firm had started trading under the same name as us. Now we only selling logs locally so another firm 100 odd miles away was no problem as far as we were concerned. Then we start getting folk ringing up wanting logs from the other business. Again not a big issue as its not that often but a bit of a pain. I contacted the owner and they said they would add some geographic description to help stop this and it has more or less worked. Now for the first time we get a crappy review from a guy we have never supplied who has a bag of wet logs (not that we sell in bags either). Starting to get a bit pi$$ed off with this but our name is not trademarked so how might we amicably get this sorted? Thanks
  7. While others have cold and snowy conditions all we get of note is endless easterly gales. Had our phone line out from Tuesday to Friday. Now more damage being done today with trees down on the local moorland.
  8. An understanding of your local weather is really important. Here if you had large doors they would be a nightmare when it's windy which is a lot of the time and probably unusable the last few days. In a well sheltered spot they might work well Something I didn't mention on my other post is we didn't carry the cladding right down to floor and stopped it around 400mm up. This also aids ventilation
  9. I built us a multi purpose barn. Our weather is fairly consistent with lots of rain from the south and west so its only clad on the south and west faces. Occasionally rain comes from other directions but not often and I do not keep anything in there than cant withstand getting occasionally wetted. It makes it very good for log drying being able to access from two side can be handy as well. Just went for steel profile but staggered hit and miss like in the picture above might be better but suspect quite a bit of rain would drive through if you get rain and gales
  10. There is a table in this link which my old Protimeter came with http://www.damp-meter-direct.co.uk/PDF/Articles/Wood-Calibration-Chart.pdf
  11. Looking at the comments and presuming some of them did understand finish the Husky lasted 12mins and did 220 cookies and the Stihl lasted 8mins and cut a 140 cookies
  12. Anyone found the power output of the 540i XP yet?
  13. Yes clean that rust off and get some lube on the table. Found this stuff great and it wont affect glue joints like some lubes do FELDER e-shop | SET Offer FELDER® Super Glide Spray bottle 0,5 l and FELDER® Super Glide Refill pack 3 l | purchase online UK.FELDERSHOP.COM SET Offer FELDER® Super Glide Spray bottle 0,5 l and FELDER® Super Glide Refill pack 3 l - SET Offer FELDER® Super Glide...
  14. Sorry to hear that Sam. Good luck with the job hunting.
  15. Sorry my mistake. I just googled the saw and most sellers had them with a 2ah battery but I see there are lots of battery options
  16. The batteries look low on power by comparison with others or have I misunderstood the power ratings? They win on price though Makita has 180 watt hours 540i XP is 338 watt hours MSA 220 281 watt hours Ego 112 watt hours
  17. Got a fair amount of hedge work on for the next few seasons around the farm and very tempted to buy a top end electric chainsaw. We have the baby Makita which is handy but it's not gutsy enough to be the saw of choice up the field. Find myself using an ms181 quite a bit and wondered if either the MSA220 or the 540i XP might be a match for it power wise. Thanks
  18. Snag is if you really are delivering fresh cut logs in loads in excess of 2 cube most pickups will be overloaded. Could argue you have to do 2 trips to stay within weight limits.
  19. I had a chat with Woodsure a few weeks back. If we sell in excess of 2 cube we dont need to sign up so no costs. Just need to provide a note to the end customer on how to dry the un seasoned logs. Defra are going to be drafting up a suitable letter.
  20. Its not rocket science but it's a fine line between being compliant with the new regs and not so worth being accurate
  21. 340 is very wide. If they were narrower one of these would be good
  22. I bought an electric start Honda for my Farmi WP36. Didn't cost a 1k. The engine was a Honda GX390UT2 QXE4 for £780 from these guys Garden Machinery Bristol | George Carr Power Products GEORGECARRPOWERPRODUCTS.CO.UK George Carr Power Products has over 150 years' experience in selling & servicing garden equipment & is one of the largest... . 23. Heras panels are very lightweight. I built a square store with a Heras panel for each side. Had to to add a lot of slats to support them and wouldn't bother with them again
  24. On that other thread Openspacman made up a very handy conversion chart. So the target for nice logs is 20% on the wet basis which will equate to 25% on a dry basis. Get them reading below 25% on that meter and they should burn fine
