  1. Oaks do it a lot , every year - well not sure about the discolouration every year though
  2. Interesting, good musos, experimental but no cohesion
  3. The power lines are low voltage. The line that he is closest to is not fully insulated. The lines going across the road have no insulation of course
  4. + 2 independent witnesses to said statement
  5. + this time of year, advise client to water it in dry spells
  6. Just heard this - what a great soul/blues ballad and what a great delivery - Joplinesque

  9. that's bang on what I thought before I saw your price
  10. They like buddleia bushes. A good place to get photos on mass. I have seen quite a few large yellow underwing moths around the house just lately too
  11. No. If there is only a small amount of decay then the tree is compartmentalising the wound well. You cut a couple of feet off and you are putting the tree under more stress. More stress = less vitality = less chance of the new wound healing well. We are talking about poplars of course
  12. if there goosed then pruning lower will result in them being goosed again with a larger wound. You could do it then explain to the land owner the tree/s may need felling next time around, and consider planting new trees in the meantime if feasible
  13. When re pollarding it is important not to cut past the previous pollard point - even a little bit past the previous pollard point is not good for the tree
  14. A metal detector might pick that up Steve
  15. I was ok but me bitch wasn't - I ended up throwing a towel on it and letting it go outside
  16. I had one in the bedroom once, I have been told if you leave a window open it will find its way out eventually. That's not great if you want to get to sleep though
