  4. The bleeding will stop some soon I expect, I don't know when. The roots are transporting water and the leaves are photosynthesising so don't worry about the bleeding. I would not seal the wounds with wax. The wounds will callus in time.
  5. The bleed is not a problem and the tree should recover from the wounds, however I personally would be looking to apply a non invasive form of control should the problem happen again
  6. All contractors should do this. Mrs Miggins might blow things out of proportion and say someone is cutting the tree down, and the TO makes an unnecessary mad dash to the site.

  13. Glad you got PTI m8. BTI - Its not worth the risk for Insurance companies and the insured. You know what its like in this industry, you know a few things but you think you know more than you actually do know, PTI is great because it tailored to combine quite a high knowledge academically with a number of years hand on experience in in the field.

  20. Steve, just ask them for conformation by email, that you are covered by their professional indemnity insurance.
  21. Regarding Professional indemnity insurance, will your insurance company be happy with BTI? They should be happy with PTI.

  23. They charge the electric companies for any work on any tree, which involves going on their land, even if it involves just having a banksman on the canal side for safety reasons, or blowing a bit of sawdust off the tow path. As Stubby said - just crack on
