  1. ..... you to run away mid sentence? Hi Martyn!! :confused1:
  2. I wouldn't have watched it twice! There would have been an airborne wedge on the first occasion and a re-brief!! I don't think (maybe wrong) you'd get brake pads done on your car in warranty, change it yourself not too tricky
  3. Eh up Paul! Sounds good for you mate, training IS a vocation! There was a thread a way back started by Martyn about how industry and college could work together to create better new entrants to the industry. At the risk of being a bit controversial, I think you may have hit upon a key problem in your post above. Whilst it is possible to train skills and confidence into an apprehensive candidate, there has also to be the question, answered by both the individual and the trainer, is this the right environment for me? Tree swinging isn't for everyone, and whilst everyone has individual strengths & weaknesses, is it something that the trainee should continue with if they are 'uncomfortable' in fairly benign training environment? Bit deep and thought provoking, maybe even controversial..... better have a and lighten up! Fair winds fella
  4. Phew! That's a relief.... thought I was being a block head!
  5. What would it do in terms of a straight 'upwards' lift say onto a trailer (green arrow)? What I can't visualise is how it would do that. Wouldn't the forks go backwards towards the machine as it lifted and pivoted (blue arrow)? That may be a dullard question for your fabrication gods but I can't see it??!!?? MMPP1.tif
  6. Sell it rather than use it is undoubtedly the better option financially, but I don't! 3 log burners ticking over in our house, 1 more to go in when that room gets 'done.'
  7. Yes, all understood! Wife & I have had passionate discussion about it this afternoon. From what I can see 25kg is about the biggest for rear facing. More research required I think. Thoughts and prayers were with you when you posted about that terrible day and still are.
  8. My fault, you did say in your first post "if you had to buy it", I missed that
  9. I'll have a quick internet search in a minute but have you any detail that expands on that campaign LGW? We've just bought a size up on the car seat - it's forward facing, as were all the models we looked at, if there's a school of thought for rear facing I'd be keen to know about it.
  10. (in jest lest it causes offence!) Yes, particularly the daily £ rate!
  11. Wood has to be cheapest if you're getting it for free, no? I guess it depends how you view the time / effort of cutting, stacking, seasoning, carrying into the house, lighting the fire, clearing the ash and through life stove costs in financial terms - it's a different game to letting the thermostat do the work!! We're on biomass pellets - last 3 years, 1 pallet delivered at about £230ish per year (just gone up.) As a legacy installation, first RHI payment is due this Feb and initial calc's indicate +/- 3.85k per year so all install costs recovered in 3 years then gravy!
  12. The time taken to "get it right" before release for general sale there shouldn't have been "issues!" I gave up waiting and went Sth.... Can't bring myself to say it....
  13. Have to agree that Patterson was a grade A (.......) Forum rules and my inadequate grasp of expletives prevent me from fully expressing my contempt...
  14. Do you struggle to get / keep staff? I mean, anyone over 21 not living at home with mum & dad? In SE England? I'd say that's way low but it's your train set, if it works why change it, but you must be thinking about it to have asked the question?
  15. Would it be the case that the tree could be made safe with a 5 day notice and this may not be so full a permission as to allow felling. If felling is approved it could be conditioned with a replacement, whereas if left in situ (made safe) a replacement condition would not apply? All questions not statements...!!
  16. What happened here Gary? Have some posts been removed or are you on the beer early??
  17. Tesco delivery driver said they've lost several vans this morning to ice.....
  18. I will be doing something different! Labour vote - no, there's not much there that appeals to me anymore. Tory vote - no, local MP is a total and complete muppet, not while the current foreign aid budget is ring fenced and set to increase, not while the badger cull is supported. Lib Dem vote - no, (why bother) although I do think they have achieved more as a party by being in a coalition than they ever could have hoped to on their own terms. Can't quite understand why they are getting such a slating from within - Clegg has achieved more than any other Lib Dem leader, they should, logically, be riding high Green - no, although the anti-fracking stance is appealing. So what does that leave - MRLP????
