  1. Odd, your IPhone is in the amber for battery at 49%?
  2. I happened across this website the other day: Vehicle Sales | Ex Fleet vehicles for sale - SHB Vehicle Hire UK Had a scan through, surprised to see what appeared to be some reasonably priced vehicles.
  3. Possibly a cheaper option and still beneficial / educational?
  4. That was a nice watch.... Felt like I was there! That chunk at 3:22 looked like it wanted to go through the kitchen window straight to the fire!
  5. Due to a key piece of insider information, received just minutes before the phone call, it wasn't appropriate to ask the questions I had lined up for the council leader. As it transpires, it wasn't a Cornwall council led or funded project and that advice from the chief forestry officer against the selection and procurement of the failed trees was, apparently, provided and ignored. It's a shame that the statement issued by CC stated that they couldn't answer since a staff member was no longer employed, then the council leader said, on air, I can't answer for that because it happened before my tenure. Both really lame angles which did nothing to protect or enhance the reputation of the council which suffers a fairly woeful level of public confidence. A better answer might have been - Cornwall council provided advice to the project delivery department which was ignored. The failure is not a criticism that should be levelled at the council but rather at the department responsible. Good on him for doing a monthly open mic Q&A live on air. He gets some pretty sharp finger poking - and, unfortunately, tends to rise and react to it which normally does more harm than good in generating public support, appreciation and understanding of the council. One good consequence of 'austerity' is that the general public are becoming much more attuned and engaged in VfM arguments and the desire to hold public sector to account for apparently barking projects and spends from LAs.
  6. Expecting a call to speak to CEO Cornwall council, live on air toady between 13:00 - 14:00 BBC - Radio Cornwall Laurence Reed - 05/09/2016
  7. Nice one.....! Looks like it deserves a good second use!!
  8. Not financially viable? There'd only be 1 potential subscriber and he doesn't think he'd need it anyway..., 😆
  9. Thank goodness! Anyone..... I thought it was an invisible post!
  10. I wish I'd thought to put something in for scale - some of these are serious sized trees virtually hanging in clean air from 20 degree arc of available rooting. Mind bending! Most on AT will appreciate scale but was just showing the wife and had to explain scale to describe the enormity of the stresses.
  11. Difficult to see from the pictures but: post No.10 pic 3 - there is no ground contact as the limb comes down then goes back up - amazing! post No. 8 pic 1 - there is no ground contact under that main stem! Pic 5 - look closely to see that tree base extends some 5-6 feet away from the bank. It looks like it's joined, but it kind of juts out and that is shingle bank behind - gravity defying! Post 3 pic 2, unbelievable - gravity defying! Post 1, pics 1,2 & 3 - just unbelievable! I left wife & little one in play park and said I'll be back in 10 minutes. 20 mins later got a text thinking it would be a "so where are you" but it was "taken little one to loo, meet you at LR in 10" - phew!! Literally stubbled on these by chance and only had a very limited time to cover a couple of 100m of shoreline. These were literally meters apart with more around every corner. Will have to talk to ATF (Cornwall) about potential listing.
  12. I'll get some more detail on in a minute or 2 David, it's taking for ever to upload! These were all within a 200m stretch!
  13. Happened across these beauties today.... Only a very short section of estuarine foreshore, trees no more than 5m apart. The pictures really don't do justice to some of the truly gravity defying growth. Several batches to upload due to painfully slow internet connection!
  14. Go straight to assessment (maybe a couple of days prep training as Steve mentioned above) If you don't need the training course I don't think theres a specific 'requirement' to do training followed by assessment if you don't think you need it.
  15. On reflection, (3) wouldn't cut it, it would have to be (4) and above
  16. That's an interesting question.... Can you tell us, roughly / ball park, what the job earned you Stephan? Maybe it'd be easier to understand then: (1) £100 v potentially letting the Mrs down (2) £500 v ..................... (3) £1000 v .................... (4) £2500 v ................. (5) £5000 v ............. (6) £10,000.......... (7) £25,000........ (8) £100,000....... (9) £250,000 In the circumstances you describe, I reckon the majority would have a point on a sliding scale where they might follow your lead, question is, what is the critical mass? Genuinely, for me, it would have to be greater than (3) gusting (4) and a great portion of that money would then have to be sidelined to the direct benefit of wife & baby.
  17. I have legacy "issues" with them regarding the sale of the 110 back in 2010! It's only ever after you've used a certain service / retailer that everyone seems to tell you the stories of woe! Perhaps I should have quantified the customer service comment with pre-sale!! So, yes it is and yes I'm cautious having been once bitten!
