  1. A clairvoyant?
  2. I’ve seen them playing tug of war with a tyre and tearing stuff apart. Just the thought makes me shudder.
  3. I don't normally bother with domestic clients, but developers and builders always. Been stung before. And as others have said, don't get in too deep with a new company. It stands to reason that most big builders and developers have used a tree firm before, so I always wonder why that relationship has soured.
  4. You're all heart Mark
  5. How are you expected to be viewing twatbook, twatter etc and look up at the same time? Some people are just so unreasonable in their expectations of others.
  6. Why don't you start one?
  7. I'm not sure that mine does that? But I've stuck with the 5S and avoid updates (cos I want to keep my fungus app)
  8. It's the 'I want what I want' culture. Try having two...
  9. Why does everyone have problems spelling Sheffield?
  10. Don't knock it..
  11. Water present might slow decay because of anaerobic conditions.
  12. What about applying ecoplugs to standing trees, instead of ring barking?
  13. How long is the hedge and how long did it take to do? I don't think I'd even have the patience to attempt to learn this.
  14. I've seen a gummy residue on pruning wounds on elm after a day or two, just below the bark. Honey bees seem to be attracted to it, so I guess the sap is sweet (it does taste sweet).
  15. Almost certainly
  16. Labour, Conservative or Liberal
  17. Where are you based now? I'm at Loughborough on 13th June, so I'm thinking that if I take some down there someone can move some onwards to destinations. Paul is in the Warley area of Birmingham, so if someone is passing through on the way back from the Mattheck seminar maybe they could drop some a piece or two off and the same with you?
  18. PM sent
  19. That's probably because I got the name wrong. It's Chusan Palm, Chinese windmill palm, Trachycarpus fortunei I know that I've never had any before, so thought that someone might like an opportunity to try to turn something out of it - just for the experience. I still haven't measured it but it's nearer six in diameter on average than eight. It don't look much from the photos but it's odd stuff. I'm not after beer tokens but would like to see some photos of any results, out of interest.
  20. Arborists are prepared.....
  21. As opposed to Cornish?
  22. I heard a bit on R4. The interviewer was trying to get him to confirm that he hadn't invited someone personally to visit parliament. I didn't catch the name but boy, can that man evade a straight answer....
  23. Interesting reading, or rather the little section that I looked at about sycamores is. Seems like if you've only been here for four centuries you 're still an incomer
