  1. Are you suggesting that we have some corrupt MPs? Actual politicians that aren't doing the job for the greater good of the people? And there was me thinking they're all a load of self-serving buggers who will lie through their teeth to suit their own ends.
  2. Seems to me that the opposition (at any particular time) seem to think that proportional representation is a great idea, until they're no longer the opposition. My suggestion is to put the leaders of each party into the Big Brother house ( or similar ) for a month with cameras on them for 24/7 for a month. The public could vote for challenges and particular participants for those challenges, just so we could really get to know their characters:biggrin: Last man standing to run the country:lol:
  3. Canary Island Date Palm
  4. A L6 assignment a while back. Apparently there's lot's of interest in their use if you want to grow things in the attic under growlights:confused1:
  5. I thought you did Vehicular Access Technician Mark?
  6. Lots of articles out there, but generally these issues start really early in the trees development when they're not moved on from the first trays or pots that the seed is planted in. The roots encircle the pot, get transplanted into a larger pot and the problems just buried to emerge years later. Airpots are meant to be really good in preventing this. If you do much bare-root stock planting you'll often be able to see roots that aren't growing radially but are growing round in circles. They should be either root pruned to encourage radial rooting or discarded.
  7. Nothing gets between a man and his pint, nothing. I heard that he bought a ticket for this weeks lottery, so I'm not going to bother.
  8. That surprises me too. When you start looking at a lot of trees and see how many lack appreciable buttresses around part of the root flare, I often suspect that there's underground self-girdling roots. Do you recommend reductions in an attempt to make them safer?
  9. Very true. Nothing worse than softwood resin stuck to the hair on ya legs:biggrin: Jokes aside, that seems an awful lot of tool for the money.
  10. I'm not convinced chainsaw trousers would offer that much protection against that tbh:001_smile:
  11. Apparently, in the scheme of things, a billion quid is neither here nor there....... so don't worry about it Mark:thumbup:
  12. Ouch! A full refund on hundreds of saws.... Predictive text?
  13. :thumbup1: Thanks for that, I appreciate that you've taken the time to go through it. I've proof read it several times and still missed the errors:blushing: I've edited it now.
  14. The overall change in soil volume will be the same whether the tree is removed in stages or in one go. In stages just increases the cost of removal and is no longer recommended.
  15. I know nothing about sprinklers, but if each flat is meant to be isolated in the event of a fire and sprinklers were installed in the stairwells and passageways to provide safe® exit routes, that would seem a compromise. Might be talking nonsense, but it's a thought.
  16. I'd have to say stag
  17. As a nation of animal lovers, I can't see why we'd go backwards.
  18. Wasn't there a company advertising on here last week for non- British operatives?
  19. Missus says Warsaw I'm a London lad so wouldn't know
  20. Oh crap. I thought I was still a hip dude...... I've got old Don't tell me that Mark has left T-Rex too?
  21. Thought that was Robbie Williams?
  22. It was a WW2 shell and some bloke on arbtalk said it was perfectly safe and inert, honest.
  23. You're far to old to understand. Do you remember when you you were a kid and watching TOTP's and your dad said " that ain't proper music!" News mate! You're now your dad!
