  1. And need to block off the hole that goes into the air filter.
  2. Yep. It removes the accelerator pump part of the carb and turns it into the older (and IMO mor reliable) 020 carb. It's a fidly job and if you are not mechanically minded find someone to do it for you. It took me a long time to find out how it's actually done. In my view the infix may or may not work as the carbs are fidly as are the saws. Easier to replace it than to spend the hours to try and fix it. This of course is if its the pump that is the problem as these carbs can have a few problems that show all the symptoms of the carb problem..
  3. It's not really a "mod" but a standard fix. And all it does is change the carb to a less recent well known one, that if the op done a simple search of on here he would have found out.
  4. Yeah another ms200t carb...
  5. A little something like this then. It's the silent drill team from u.s marines. I like the silent part. It adds a bit more than the sound of wailing cats from a sheeps stomach with chair legs hanging out of it. . The slapping of hands on rifles and the ground is kind of somber. 6. Yep in kent. Who you looking for???
  7. Can it run on aspen??!
  8. None as there is no anchor point for the rope and we are not allowed to use ladders for working from...... Would have to leave it as health and safety would deem the work too unsafe..
  9. No. My accountant loves me tho. Have to give my stuff early so he can tape it all back together. My excuse is I'm saving the planet by recycling all my paper work into loo paper.
  10. I would suggest a vac test straight into the shredder will sort that problem out wolf man. Don't honk a comp test will help in your case.
  11. I'm really going to disagree with the use of motor oil. It will do nothing to help your pump in your saw. Plus the complications of it being not tacky enough to stick to the chain long enough to do its job.... There have been many questions over using other oils in saws and all have the same answer. Can't you just sell a few litres of the motor oil so you can buy chain oil. I'm sure a few people would buy it?
  12. No. The carb sits against the boot end and there is a small hole on the edge of it. Behind that is the plastics and the other side if the plastics is where the end of the line goes into.

I would buy it just to sell to lakeyboy and triple my profit. Only joking. I don't even want it. :001_tt2:

  16. Ok. Bear with me for the description. If it makes no sense then message me and I can send you a pretty picture of it. Ok so it goes into the crank case under the carb boot. It then feeds up and under the boot. The white plastic that the boot goes to and where the carb sits there should be a small bit that the hose goes onto. So follow the carb boot rubber and you will see it there. Between the engine and big bit of plastic where the carb sits into. Like I said I can give ou a nice picture to help.
  17. eBay. Hey are on there. This one is from America but i only done a quick search. You may find more. But check the size you need. Meteor Piston kit for STIHL 066, 066 Magnum, MS660 - MS 660 (54mm) | eBay
  18. I used to get that when I spread the human poo on the fields. Hs been a few years since I done it. Tesco was always fun after work. And I only EVER got away with coming into the house once. After that I had to get undressed outside the go straight into the shower. Gave the neighbours something to look at.
  19. Wet test means with some fuel going into it. So plug out and pull over a few times to allow the fuel to build up a bit in the cylinder. Makes the rings wet so the fuel acts like a seal around the rings. Could try it dry first and then wet to see if the rings are bedding into the pot or not. It's a bit like a basic car engine comp diagnosis, if the rings are suspect in a car then some oil in plug hole and a test will allow it to become clear if the rings are suspect as a dramatic increase in comp with the oil creating a seal around the rings and cylinder means the cylinder lining or rings are knackerd. Almost same principle in two stroke exept using fuel instead of oil.
  20. £70 not too bad. I've seen cheaper but they are definatly the Chinese ones. And I will never go there again. Did it turn up in a white box?? . I have fitted and meteor piston into another pot, but it wasn't Chinese pot. If its all new I would do a wet comp test, then run a tank it in then do another comp test. The problem, as spud points out often, is the Chinese ones just don't have good rings on the piston. I forget now but were the rings from the old piston any good??
  21. I want to see it top the hedge
  22. If the comp is that low it won't rise that much IMO. Is the piston on the right way round. Just a thought and not meaning to sound like your a fool but simple things. You need to inspect the cylinder better, one small scratch could lead to comp going past the rings. Get a good pic up of the pot.
  23. Saw that one a while ago. It was good. They also done one before on stihl saws. Went through the production line.
  24. Hmmm. Maybe I will have to look into it. Next time I see a van about I will drop a card with them. I did have a small brainwave of doing an offer of a "pay parts only" for a company near me on arbtalk. Maybe try and get my name about with them and see what they think. If I was fair or any improvements or if I was just total waste. With the other threads about like chipper080 thread about getting about with work. Would be a trial for all to see. It has plenty of possible drawbacks I know but as I've always been told "don't ask, don't get!"
  25. Oh I'm more than prepared for the Aldi specials. Got a skip picked out and everything. I've done a few mowers in the past but again its been professional users. Some I've just had to say are scrap as they have been well beyond repare. I need to sort out advertising, I almost always have a card in my pocket when I'm out, but I havnt really advertised before, I've just let the word by mouth way spread. Has been ok so far but I've been lacking in workshop work lately. The ones who usually come to me with saws have slowed as I've almost done all there saws and its just a case of waiting until they have a breakdown again.
