It really does only leave the piston now. All parts have been tested or replaced with new. Carb, impulse, boot, coil, plug, bearings, seals, handle, tank, fuel line, breather, in fact the only original part on it now is the pull start, clutch cover, drum, and crank case/oil tank......

Nope not coil. I'm beginning to think that I need medical intervention aswell trust me.
-
Never mind. Just switch need a good clean out. Back together and ready for owner to take it away. Is a very good saw and has some power to it.

Thanks mark that very kind of you. I do have one more question on the husky. I knew it done it before and its normally an easy fix but, the off switch isn't working. It has one lack wire going to it but nothing coming away from it. Does it have to have another wire and if so where does it ground out to??

WIFE VS. HUSBAND A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?" "Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws." W O R D S A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men... The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?" CREATION A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time." The wife responded, "Allow me to explain . God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!" The Silent Treatment A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up." Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

The saw has never been run on aspen and has always been run on pump fuel. Same mix ratio as I use and new fuel was used after strip down and carb has been cleaned and set back to factory setting. And yes have filled form different cans aswell. I'm awaiting for the new piston I ordered last night. S the saw is away until Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Keep the ideas coming tho as I can always do the checks anyone suggests and cross them off at least. I don't think the fuel is the issue. The plug comes out just right with dampness of fuels on it after trying to run. Sometimes comes out wet if the saw wont fire. The rancher has been set and runs lovely. Just going to finish a clean up and sharpen up the chain and cut some timber just to check it is all good. Gt to say it is a lovely saw. Ad I see why people like th husky now. But I'm still disinfecting the bench and sticking to stihl

48mm. Rancher 61 ir is then. Not that means much to me. Just need carb settings please. Tried the gap on a new plug on that 200 no difference. Still a pig.

Ok. Spark will be regapped. And a new one tried. But for now thi saw is to one side as I need to clear other tools before I can go back as I'm not making any money on it now. But for now at least its the husky getting a going over. Cleaned out the carb and all good, spark is good, just needs a good clean. There is no stickers left to tell me what model it is only a plate at the from with 16611 03644. Does this mean its a husky 61? Also I need factory setting for high low screws. If anyone knows them please. I have got a ride on mower to look at later and get some details for service aswell. Bog standard type service, engine, blades, belts check etc etc etc. all the boring bread money stuff.

That's and interesting offer. Now just need to first check if meteor do a piston for it. Then see how much a new cylinder and piston is for it. Just incase it goes horribly wrong.

I looked for the steel ones but only found these type of ones. Will have to do some more searches then.

To be honest I really havnt got hold of a 201 to even see it let alone take it apart and look at the internals. Was woundering about the muffler mod. Could the Same be done as to the 200 or is it a different setup inside the muffler. Another difference I have noticed in the 200 is some have different mufflers on them. Look the same but inside is different. One I had has two "poles" inside by the port. Guess to mod this properly I need to take the out. Anyway muffler mods are for another thread maybe. Be interested to hear who far you mod the muffler spud by the way.
-
Very funny. It WILL go again. I will make sure it will even if I end up with a saw that has no original parts left on it to make it run I wounder if the 201 can be ported more than the 200, I guess as soon as either the new husky comes out or the warrantees run out on the 201 people will soon get the itch to port them over here.
-
I wa a thinking about these 201 the other day. I would love to get hold of one and sort it with spud to do a port and mods to this machine. Maybe I will have to buy one and get up to spud if he is up to it and see what sort of mods can or can't be done. I've seen the Americans are already tweaking there's.

Try using your thumb on the throttle lever rather than your fingers. It will naturally hold better as you are not bending your wrist. It will be on the course. Better to go there noing nothing as you will learn more.

Little Old Lady In Court... Defense Attorney: Will you please state your age? Old Lady: I am 94 years old. Defense Attorney: Will you tell us, in your own words, what happened the night of April 1st? Old Lady: There I was, sitting there in my swing on my front porch on a warm spring evening, when a young man comes creeping up on the porch and sat down beside me. Defense Attorney: Did you know him? Old Lady: No, but he sure was friendly. Defense Attorney: What happened after he sat down? Old Lady: He started to rub my thigh. Defense Attorney: Did you stop him? Old Lady: No, I didn't stop him. Defense Attorney: Why not? Little Old Lady: It felt good. Nobody had done that since my Albert died some 30 years ago. Defense Attorney: What happened next? Old Lady: He began to rub all over of my body. Defense Attorney: Did you stop him then? Old Lady: No, I did not stop him. Defense Attorney: Why not? Old Lady: His rubbing made me feel all alive and excited. I haven't felt that good in years! Defense Attorney: What happened next? Old Lady: Well, by then, I was feeling so "spicy" that I just laid down and told him 'Take me, young man. Take me now! ' Defense Attorney: Did he take you? Old Lady: Hell, no! He just yelled, "April Fool!" And that's when I shot him, the little ba******

First. Hi. Yes you can pick up bad habits but I found I lost them straight away. Listen to the instructors and don't get in a major flap over anything. If you don't know or understand then say so. I found that it was all very relaxed and put in a straight forward way. Bull poo baffles brains approach. Everything you need to pass the test is covered on the course.

With holes drilled in it a intervals could be and early soak away system.

I put it one for trying to run but for just testing it I left it off. So to give it a quick try it was off during the various tests but when I wanted to run it up proper it went on. I'm really getting it into my head about the piston now. I'm stuck on the running on full throttle and choke bit. This means that there is max fuel going into the case and cylinder. Could this fuel create a seal on the rings but on tickover not a lot of fuel going in creating no seal??? My mind is off again.....
-
Yes I am using the gauge. I know its a very strange one on a saw. It's the only option I can really think of at the moment as every test, backyard trick, and method has been done done and done again for good measure. The piston is now on order so will just have to wait and see. The saw will be put to one side until that turns up as I need to get onto some money making. The piston really done look like the last possible option. The list so far is. Pressure and vac test- passed no problems on either. Exhaust checked and cleaned out. Carbs checked with working one. Boot changed for another even tho no damage apparent and seals well. Impulse changed and checked with no sign of wear. Comp tested and read a little low but not enough to stop running. (But may be enough to cause running problem if rings worn as it will run with full throttle and this means loads of fuel in cylinder) Fuel tank vent checke sand working. But did change for another fuel tank assembly and that meant fuel vent, fuel pipe and cap. Havnt had the air filter on it for trying to run up so not that problem. Spark, coil, and flywheel gap checked and working well. Can't think of anything else I've left off.

I've got to say that I have never used the steel insert method spud is on about. But I also highly go with the helicoil option. If its doe properly it will last. I've used helicoils for various things before and they have never let me down. Not that spuds steel insert isn't good I've just never used it.

Ok. So the 200t. I have put another handle assembly, carb boot, and impulse line on the saw. Still no change. I have put a spot of grease on the boot joints and still no change. There is a good seal on boot and impulse line carb side. Also impulse line behind handle assembly. The carb I used is a good one as I put it on another 200t that needs a new carb and it worked perfectly. So now I'm just about to order a new meteor piston for it as this must surely be the last option. As its possible a bad piston can cause bad impulse by not compressing the crank case enough on downward stroke..... The exhaust is also spot on aswell. I did try running it again throughout the day and it will fire on full choke and then either run on half or full revs but still die out on tickover and stutter when throttle pulled.
-
Yes I have mike. The exhaust muffler is clean as a whistle I done that when I down he bearings and seals. Isn't was that dirty but cleaned it out none the less. Could do a mod to it I suppose. Would definatly eliminate that issue.

I did think about that today. It's being done on a good price mate. Now its just turning into a for my own amusement fix. I won't be spending much more time on it that's for sure. Got a ride on mower coming my way over weekend for service and a small fix for the deck. It's a yard man ride on and the pin holding the deck up on one side has lost its split pin. So new pin and a good service. This one will take over from the 200 as will the husky from earlier. The saws owner isn't too fussed over how long I take with his saw and I don't mind not charging what i should for doing it. Plus he doesn't like the 201 so I can't up him one of those. Otherwise I probably would and keep his for spare parts. Anyway my head is now proper hurting and I'm going to sleep dreaming of 200s and pulling the starter cord.

That's it.. Eureka I've been doing it wrong it needs a doctor and healthy dose of a very large hammer... Remember that thread I done with the size of hammer for how stressed I was getting..... Well if I had a hyd post rammer it would be under it. Well if it was my saw it would be. I've got to say that its my 8th ms200t since Xmas and its the first that has got me scratching my head over and could potentially beat me. So not bad going.
