  1. Ok. Get some details form it. Should find most of it on the front bars under the plastics and lights. Near the rad protection screen. If it has one. There should be a sticker with the model, year and any variant it is like the "d" Have a look and let us know, some are just too old. Everything's fixable one way or another. Also check it has original Honda quad engine on it aswell and its not been replaced with some Chinese copy. On the engine cooling fins below spark plug there should be the cc of the engine stamped into them. If this isn't apparent it could be a copy engine.
  2. I can look at for you bud. I think I will owe you a pint anyway. Depends on model and year. The old trx quads are hard to source parts for. I had to use ebay and get from America. It sounds like valves and once warm they create a seal. If they are just worn the can be re ground, a comp test will eliminate this problem. Doe it drop in oil after running? Also could be down to running. How does it run on tickover and pickup? Most dealers won't touch the old ones as parts are obsolete. So you have to go non genuine route. The head and valves can be a real pain to take apart and get back on again. The timing gear is a pain. Chain driven sprockets means trying to time it up is fidly and time consuming. Simple valve grinding kits are available easily enough. A trx350 I had to rebuild a while ago as it would stall out after warming up and not start until cold. Needed oversize piston and rings as Honda parts obsolete.
  3. Not enough fuel getting in. When putting carb back together was the jets back in properly. Is the carb back on tight. Gaskets back on ok? Or too much air getting in. So settings wrong. Could just be a Briggs and Stratton engine.
  4. Fiddly pig of a job. Two long nose pliers help.
  5. Pushes the moisture back into the ground and root systems... Plus it make it easier to walk on. And you get pretty lines in it....
  6. That is epic..... No waste of 8 mins here. Got to try the slingshot from the next tree I see cut like it now. Nice find.
  7. I don't get it? So he wants to know how a chainsaw works and how to cut with it. I've taught people how to sharpen, start and care for there saw after having to fix them or sharpen them. I will always teach a person how to look after there saw so it is, A, safer to use and operate. B, less likely to get caught out by the saw if they are starting it wrong and not using it with great care. So show him how to do felling cuts, how to start and operate it with cutting his arms off. The leave it at that. Explain you are in no way a trained assessor and if he gets it wrong he has to deal with it. Don't take him into the wood and show him how to fell a tree but tell him how to do it. Taking care of the saw is more important than using it. Tell him then let him go do his own thing. After all you could get a callout after a hang up or stuck saw. Then make some money.
  8. And the boat won't get stopped either. Just need to put the blue light on and we are away. Could be quids in here.
  9. The dentist has to be the one thing I really don't fear. I had four teeth pulled when I was 7 as they where effecting the growth of the others and pushing them. My words to the dentist at the age of 7 after being told its removal or braces! "Just get one with it and pull really hard" From then teeth don't bother me and I actually like the sound of the drill and torture implements they use. Lastly because I'm trying to figure out how they work.... I'm sure teeth will start to rot soon but not bothered. If you ever want to remove some teeth and mine are failing I will give you a call. Always up for some fun. But will probably have to see mendiplogs to get some of the good cizzer....
  10. I can drive fast if need be. Not that I've ever done it before. I will only do it if its 50/50 tho. Other than that no deal. For the op. just use a 880 with no exhaust. Then leave it running all the time you are working. No one will want to get near you and you will not hear them either.
  11. Try any of the arb shops on this site. Top right hand corner. Trade directory.
  12. Disconnect the throttle rod from the trigger, Remove the filter base Pry the throttle rod out of the carburetor carrier. Pull the throttle rod in the direction of the handle until its bent end is in front of the opening. Rotate the throttle rod about 90° counterclockwise. Pass the throttle rod through the opening in the direction of the tank housing and remove it Installing Line up the throttle rod Push the throttle rod between the tank housing and air guide shroud and rotate it about 90° at the same time. Pass the throttle rod through the opening. Rotate the bent end clockwise and push it under the throttle trigger. Push the throttle rod into the guide in the carburetor carrier until it snaps into position. Check operation
  13. Some fuel pipe from halfords. Or I have used windscreen washer pipe before, for a temp fix until proper stuff arrived..
  14. Maybe a tree is in the way for building a nuke bomb shelter... And it has a tpo on it?
  15. A battery saw is your option. Or a silky. I really don't want to ask why but why:confused1:
  16. That's a fantastic offer. Top bloke. Like you say I'm not close. Wish people round my way where more like it. A couple are it not many. To man IMO.
  17. Wow makes mine look small. I guess it has wound me up a bit as now I've got to wait until middle of next week. And as I'm the only one who drives in the house its the only car. Plus for working. Just hate it when things just pile on all at once. Not only the landy but other things aswell. Life I suppose.
  18. Well I was enjoying my day. Got the 026 saws done early this morning. All ready to return. Then started on a mower. Got the blades done and the deck is now level and riding like it should without dragging along the floor. Then I hit the land rover failures. Wish I hadn't bothered now. It now sat outside the workshop. One wheel bearing really gone. And during the process f removing the hub the brake pipes went aswell. So now it looks like I'm out of a vehicle until middle of next week when the parts turn up.. So a good morning went to rat poo. Sorry gardenkit I was also meant to call today aswell. Looks like you where busy... Will call tomorrow.
  19. Well my day just gets worse.... Driving in this morning and it suddenly pulled to the Right. Had to stop. Started going again and it was slightly pulling to the right still. So at yard took wheel off. Bearing has gone. So looking for a new one and cheapest closest shop is 49 quid....... Ebay is cheaper but delivery middle of next week... So started stripping the hub off and now I have a leak in the metal brake pipe.. Argh. Think I'm going to lose it soon.
  20. Brilliant. Pm what you want for it. Not sure about anything else to be honest. Has it got any extras on it? Trying to think now.....
  21. Yeah I'm going to weld it up. But it wasn't a failure on that just the headlight, a panhard bush and track rod rubber gone. The body work welding wasn't a failure but needs doing. So WHEN the sun comes out I'm going to get either a few of the kits or sheet steel and strip the inside out and start welding it all up. I want to keep this one. It's a goodun. The welding doesn't bother me at all. Just doing it upside hurts. So its interior out and do it from the inside.
  22. Mine failed the mot other day, anyone got a disco 1 drivers side headlight they don't want??? Also a complete floor front to back mine has a little bit of rust aparantly.
  23. Got stuck on the forst John Deere. Damn I love the 6610... Oh yeah that looks wierd yet strangly usefull.
  24. I'm actually enjoying the break from the 200t saws at the mo. had one with a no spark. Changed that and now it won't tune. But it's on hold for a bit while I clear the sudden rush of 026 saws. That and trying to get the landy through the mot.
