  1. I have to admit my info was taken from the catalogue. So if it is wrong then so am I, and I apologise for correcting you Mark. But if Stihl print things in the catalogue then they should at least get it right.
  2. I have just started selling Echo rather than the normal Stihl and Huskie thing, but as yet am a little unfamiliar with the models. I will try to find out a bit about this 360T next week. Have just sold one of the new 620P models, but am waiting for it to arrive. It should be interesting to compare against an ms362. At least its not an auto tuning carb.
  3. Actually the other way round Mark HP Ultra, apparently their finest oil, is only FB rated. whereas HP Super, a cheaper oil is rated FD Both are fully synthetic Standard HP is mineral oil based and also FB Now, I really do not get it, we are told time and time again that the highest FD ratings are the best, yet Stihl's best is only FB. Many cheaper oils from other brands are much higher spec, but not all are good oils. I suspect that the F ratings are only a small part of the story, but it is a bit of a minefield and from experience we know that some so called highly spec'd oils offer little engine protection.
  4. Didn't. But I must learn to read the words and not just look at the pictures in future.
  5. yeah, yeah, rub it in, why dont you:blushing:
  6. As I recall, your wife would be the one to deal with it Beau.
  7. The average domestic use ride on will have between 12 and 50 hours per year on the clock, so 1100 hours is colossal. Ok, so an Etesia is a pretty good machine, but at 1100 hours it has had a hard life. This afternoon I have taken a JD X304 in PX. It is immaculate, having done only 200 hours since its purchase in 2010. I reckon you would be better off buying something like that. Forget ebay or other internet sales and buy a quality used machine from a local dealer that has been serviced and has a 3 month warranty.
  8. I reckon I am in with a chance Justin. Do you pay travelling to and from work, or will I have to move? Seriously though, I hope you get the right guy (or girl). Not many good ones around.
  9. There is normally no wear at all on the bearing lands of a crank, or any other shaft supported by ball (or roller) bearings as the inner race is a push fit on the shaft and all wear is taken by the race. But if the bearing siezes and spins the inner race on the shaft then wear will result immediately. There are no wear limits published, because any wear at all is unnacceptable as a new bearing will simply not grip the shaft.
  10. No! Definately do not use a stronger mix, very bad thing to do. Rock Groundsman is an excellent oil, every bit as good as the major brands. But, you can never be sure what is in an open container of unknown origin, so best not to risk it.
  11. Be careful of incentive schemes. Example. When I was manager of an Ag engineering business I had trouble getting the guys to work fast enough. Something like changing a clutch on a certain tractor was achievable in around 8hrs, but was consistently taking 12, which was eating into the best part of another day, so in reality a 1day job was taking 2 days, but we could only charge for 8 hours. So I introduced an incentive scheme. Do it in 8 hours and get paid 10 hours. Suddenly the job was achievable. Brilliant. But the guys proved they were able to do it in 8, so why hadn't they? I was now paying 10 hours for what took 8, but when I tried to take the incentive away there was uproar and a 'go-slow'. The incentive had become the norm. My point is that employees should need no incentive to provide their best service. If they can do it, but don't, then they should be working (or not) somewhere else.
  12. I would certainly not fit a 12ah battery Mike. False economy, even it if does the job, which I doubt, it will not last.
  13. It really depends on the size of the battery tray.
  14. Some people do have some strange ideas There is nothing at all wrong with the Aspen 2 stroke oil. And, as you say, it defeats the object, (well, one of them) Find another supplier.
  15. Thats £1.02 cheaper than the Stihl Motomix.
  16. Aspen 2 stroke. UK Retail Price is £18.98 inc vat for a 5 litre can Josh.
  17. Little and often Rich. Need to keep your strength up.
  18. Well, there you go! By the way, the GC engines tend to eat spark plugs too, so get one with the gaskets. And an air filter.
  19. No problem. Now get in your basket.
  20. She probably thinks that as you spend so much time in the shed......
  21. I will check the drawer in the morning.
  22. But this does. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/afag308.pdf
  23. There is one gasket between the insulator and the block. Then one each side of the heat shield Then one between the carb and the filter box support plate. Any idea which ones you need?
  24. The 'hard to start' bit is most probably down to the choke not fully engaging. The mechanism is a bit rubbish and needs very carefully adjusting. Remove the air filter an check the choke butterfly. The cutting out after a few seconds is likely down to a partly blocked needle valve. This may result in insufficient fuel flow to keep the engine running after the initial bowlfull is used up. The Honda GX carb is the most finicky and tempremental carb to be found on any modern mower. The main jet and the nozzle will want removing for cleaning. I will check out the gaskets and let you know.
  25. Just post them up Matt. Someone might just pm you.
