  1. We have had a run of sales lately which have resulted in some very tidy PX machines. But this one tops it all. Not so much a PX as bought in machine. I sold it 18 months ago but the guy never used it. He bought it on a whim, but carried on using his walk behind mower, so this week he asked me to buy it back. Don't see them like this often.
  2. Try Meetens (google it for a contact number)
  3. The saws themselves are not dangerous, but have the potential to cause problems in unskilled hands.
  4. Do not be complacent, it happened in Denmark, so it could happen here if too many start to 'break the rules' and accident rates increase. As long as top handles are used as they should be, by those who should use them, then all will be well.
  5. Yer tiz then. Proper job.
  6. There is a special tool 5910 893 9600 which is like a double ended bolt. One end is short and screws into the bar nut from the outside, it is then clamped in a vice and holds the bar nut secure whilst you drill the inner flange off with an 11mm drill. You then put a new nut in and use the other end of the tool, which is a longer thread with a cone at the bottom, to screw into the bar nut from the inside. The cone forms a new flared flange to stop the new nut falling out. Or you make something to achieve the same result.
  7. You would have to try very hard to blue a hook or an axe as there is so much material to soak up the heat. A cutter blade is more like a chainsaw chain, and very easy to blue, but a chainsaw chain that has been blued seems to harden, as its difficult to file. I sharpen hundreds of cutters, most on an annual basis and a little bit of blueing is inevitable and does not seem to cause any detriment to the blades. Dont get me wrong, I would rather not blue them, but I dont get too upset when the odd one turns.
  8. I understand your reasoning Martin, but in fact any oil on the blades causes them to blue much more quickly, so I always degrease before grinding.
  9. This is the sort of edge achievable with a 4.5" disc, used almost flat. There is a tiny bit of blueing towards the tip, but a little bit is OK. If you sharpen so slowly as to get no blueing at all on well worn teeth, it would be cheaper to fit new blades.
  10. I agree, it is quite easy to blue the edge, especially if the disc is a bit 'clogged' as it heats rather than grinds. I use a stone dresser just to keep the disc clean. I was using 'thin discs' but found they clogged to easily, and are prone to shattering. 6mm grinding discs are too big to get into the blade gap sensibly, but 3mm cutting discs are just right, and being that bit coarser than the 'thins' they do not blue the tooth as easily. I reckon I get a pretty perfect grind this way, nice and straight and even. I cannot see how its possible to do this with a dremmel though.
  11. So arrest me:001_tt2:
  12. I just use a 4.5" angle grinder with a 3mm disc. Quick and accurate, no need to dissmantle the blades and no setting up in jig. It works for me.
  13. Aaah, but it is Stihl is it not. So of course it will be forgiven all its faults. Because its Stihl. Why are people so blinkered?
  14. Do not be too hard on yourself Tree Beard, you seem to be spot on.
  15. I still have not been able to get an up to date price list out of them, when I do I will post up the price of the 360TES and the 620SX
  16. ES is indeed 'easy start'
  17. And, for TCD. Its a Sugihara! ECHO_CS-620SX.pdf
  18. I checked this with Echo as well, and that is correct. The 355 is only available on the US market.
  19. I spoke to Echo today. The cs360TES is current in the 2014 catalogue and is available now. Well it would be if they were not selling faster than they are arriving in the UK. All the stock arriving on the next delivery is allocated. If you want one then you will need to order one.
  20. I guess you would have to look at the CS550 Matty, buts its a bit heavier and a few more CC. On paper its got a bit less HP, but may have a little more torque due to its cc. Look at the echo link on the right of the screen.
  21. Echo dealers. Now.
  22. maybe like this?
  23. Hi Matty. I have started to sell Echo saws, but only as a 'sub dealer' Most of the 2t stuff I sell is Tanaka for which I am a main dealer. However, my principle is only to sell face to face in my shop. I do not get involved in distance selling as I believe that the best deal to be had, regardless of price, is the one on your doorstep. Thanks for asking though. Barrie
  24. It is the 620sx that should arrive with me shortly. 59.8cc 3.32KW, and apparently a sugihara bar. Double spikes.
  25. Apparently so. Being new to the Echo range I sold a customer a 610, from the 2014 UK catalogue, only to find that it is no longer available and they are sending a 620 instead, but it is a tad more expensive. Will post up a picture or two when it arrives.
