  1. Im 61 and been using a saw since god knows when and I'm not as good as him .....
  2. All of the above I pretty much agree with . I consider my self a driver who can get places with the least amount of fuss but who would not necessarily pass a test today . The thing is we all get old . Its a bastard but time marches on . How many of you would surrender your license when a younger person says you should not be on the road mate ?
  3. Especially a spud ported one like I have .
  4. Everything Spud said plus look for what caused the problem . Split fuel hose , leaking carb boot crank seals etc etc Don't want to fit new pot and piston and it go again !

    404 chain

Just going on what the op was saying . " juddering when cutting " Based on that I assumed it did not have enough torque to pull .404 through smoothly . Not talking about racing , just cutting . I have been wrong before .........

Don't beat yer self up bud !

    404 chain

    Its around 70cc isn't it ? I would say no . Would not run my 372 Husky on .404 . definitely not on a 21" bar . I go to .404 on 36" and 95cc upward .
  8. I got one free with my Burley stove coming up for 3 years ago . Still on the original battery .
  9. Herts boundary I think
  10. Indicated 163 mph flat on the tank on my blade at 5.30 am on the A27 between Chichester and Portsmouth . Plod parked in police only lay by . Could just make out one waving at me in my mirrors . Kept it flat stick until the Hilsea round about went off to Porchester . Never saw them after . Went a different way for about 2 weeks after that !
  11. Third , maybe fourth time and I still like it ....

    cool mower

I thought he got shot in the BUTOX sir .......
  13. Could he be looking at the water temp gauge and noticing it reading high ?

I would say the opposite . I stopped greasing nose sprockets a few years ago and since stopping have had none fail . Prior to stopping I had a few explode albeit on cheaper chocolate Husky bars . I think the grease allows grit and crud to stick to it jamming up the sprocket .

Nothing different springs to mind . All my saws are on those bars . I find them much harder wearing than anything else I have tried including Canon .
  17. Well put .
  18. I have a 9 pin in my box . Been there for years . Will get a loop made up . One or two extra drivers ?
  19. Today a bomb did not go off and did not kill 7 people and did not injure several others ....What a dude ! Will miss him .
  20. Im running .325 8 pin because you don't need an extra driver in the standard loops . Do you need to add one for the 9 pin ?

    cool mower

    Thats the billie bollox !
  22. Its the prototype for the new Husky climbing saw ...bit stronger .....
  23. 4.0mm square and 3.00mm square " Diamond edge " made by Desert Extrusions are the two sizes I use . Oh on the Oregon Jet fit head ( pictured ) I use a 4 line head but only fit 2 lines in the slots nearest the ground . The reason I use a 4 line head is it keeps the nut recessed under flush . On a 2 line only head it would protrude down . The conical plastic caps are useless and fly off but its no big deal ...
  24. In the picture I posted above the head is on a Husqvarna 545RX (45cc). If you stretch the line out and measure you are getting a total DIA of about 22inches or 56cm . I know the line will curve some what when at full chat so say 18 inch dia sweep . If you had 4 lines on it would drop the revs too much . We also have a 555RX ( 55cc) which is even more grunty but I find that the extra weight out ways ( pardon the pun ) the extra grunt .
  25. Just sweep my own ...
