Will c has the best option . You could fell leaving the stumps above fence height and thickish hinge so they stay on the stump above the fence when they go over holding them above the fence . Deal with the felled length then slice the stump down .

Well its about time you took some of the flack for being an old codger as you are ahead of me ! I definitely know what you mean about pacing yourself . I find the thing is not to stop until your sure you had enough coz its hard to get going again !

Enjoyed that program very much when I was little . Dan and Doris and the crew . We had an old valve radio ( much warmer sound ) Also I used to enjoy Jonny Morris narrating hi travels . IMHO there is nor has been any one to equal him . Mesmeric !
