  1. Mmm . Dunnow what they use in the factory . Agree with the modern lack of mechanical sympathy however . To be honest it irritates me no end ..snapping on the brake at every opportunity . I am a dinosaur I know but ......
  2. I am an old git and don't ever use the chain brake . ( the first saw I ever picked up did not have one ) Hence my 560 still has the original brake band with the slot in it . ( 2011 saw )
  3. Beefing up the spring only makes it worse if you drop it on the strop . No give in the spring translates to more force on the plastic spring mount . Plastic spring mount breaks , saw plastics fall in half . Dont drop it on the strop till they make all the plastics stronger .
  4. Clutches shearing off the crankshaft nut can be due to using an air gun to wind up the nut . Finger tight is all you need . First application of the brake will tighten it sufficiently .
  5. Silky . Have you been having handsome lessons mate ? the avitar pic is very brooding dude
  6. Sorry pink foot . Don't understand your " pardon me " thing . Opie Oils is an outlet for Red Line mate .
  7. In fresh air ...faster chain speed . Buried deep in the wood ...don't lean on it too hard as you have sacrificed a little of the torque by upping the gearing . An 8 pin sprocket still allows you to use a standard chain loop for your given bar size . If you go to a 9 pin you need to add another driver to the loop . I find the 560 that I have sufficiently strong and grunty to run 18" bar .325 chain driven by an 8 pin . It is modded slightly though . Hope that explains it .
  8. My 560 is the an early one ( 2011 ) with one less crank case bolt and has always been run on forecourt fuel ( not supermarket ) and red line racing 2T oil . Still going strong . Probably not done the hours that you get in the woods full time though .....
  9. 17th Jan . Mega frost this morning Jon but not a breath of wind yet .
  10. You must have a faulty manual Eddy or have you modded the print ?
  11. I'm not in the same league as Richard Elliot nor will I ever be ! So 18" .325 8 pin is fast enough for me . Would he have been using a bog standard saw complete with spark screen though ? Some of us have modded saws which will help to pull a longer bar with higher gearing ...
  12. Nope same amount of pull .
  13. My favorite is the " Soft dutch inverted stepped blancmange cut " that fells , sneds , cuts to 2.3 meter lengths then stacks , mashes all the brash then makes a nice cuppa
  14. 18" bar 8 pin .325 sprocket here .
  15. Thats what I thought as well . Also called a cushion cut or a step cut . Could TGB be thinking of a Humbolt cut ( inverted gob ) perhaps ....
  16. He also has an 880 for 700 notes ..........
  17. Send it back "not as described " could be an easy fix could be a money pit . Get a new Husqvarna . Dare I say it ? ..... a 560XP .
  18. Mark did you do a neck roll first ?
