Its the petrol that has removed the coating from the rubber components . Then the petrol itself keeps them soft until l it finally devolves them . So yes if you have run alot of pump fuel through then it might be wise to change the carb diaphragm and hoses . If you use Aspen from the get go its not an issue as the coating stays on the rubber .

Have a look on your pumps . Over here they are marked ( on the side usually ) E5 . ( 5% ) Anything more than 5% is bad news . A test you can do is put a little water , say 20mm , in the bottom of a plastic water bottle and mark it with a felt pen . Then add some pump fuel to the top . Shake it up and let it settle . You should see a cloudy portion settle at the bottom . If the Cloudy part is now above the line you marked it does contain ethanol .

Husky run their saws on Aspen here in the Uk .
  4. Worked on my PC . Its the same film as TCD posted second post in and as has been said not realistic . No one in their right mind would keep their finger on the gas untill they had cut their toes off . Mostly I suspect cut boots are from from a coasting chain .
  5. Only in jest Kev , only in jest bud

Yes . Have been hearing about it over the last year . We have about 5% ethanol and the US has 10% or more . I have switched to Aspen over here . Ethanol is bad news . With the higher concentrations in the US small engins run much hotter and have been known to melt the pistons . ( saw a program on it )
  8. I also can recommend Steve ( spud ) I have 4 saws ported by him . His work is second to non .
  9. A thread or two on here . Put in a search .
  10. He says its a new bar . As long as chain is evenly sharpened can only be technique ?
  11. You need planing permission to take a dump now . Just keep shtum and wing it ,
  12. With those tires you are entitled to say " Get off moy laand "
  13. Depends on the ferrous content ( iron ) . EN58J for example has minimal iron and is marine grade whereas EN57J does corrode readily . Try a magnet on it . If its non magnetic there is little or no iron .
  14. Also if you clear fell a sight you may have to replant .
  15. Yea you are probably right ! Its per quarter Doh
  16. Silly I know .........Chain sharp ?
  17. You can fell 5m3 on per quarter . So 5cube on the 31st and another 5 on the 1st if you want . There is a restriction on how much you can sell per month but I have forgotten that bit !
  18. My left boot always has a few nicks from a coasting chain when logging up . No big deal .
