I think it was 1847 , maybe 48 . I was riding my unicorn across the boundary between Constantinople and Asia minor when I came across what looked like a silver oil lamp . When it use to be planted and harvested for matches ( Swan Vesta ) it was used because it burned slowly . They even coated the end with wax to keep it going so , not so sure about good kindling .
