  6. Amazing dude . How did they swap a saw with a chain ( cutting wood ) for one with just a bar an no chain ?
  7. Could be a blocked tank breather . Eventual sucks a vacuum . Try cleaning / or fitting a new breather .
  8. I have seen Elm heart wood go like that . Not saying it is but maybe ........

  10. Saw is possibly low comp . caused by wear/previously light seize in the piston and cylinder . starts and runs initially then as things warm up and expand clearances become wider and comp drops off to below whats needed for combustion .
  11. The working corner on a scraper is much wider than the angle on a knife so less likely to break . I have made scrapers from files to flatten a surface table . ( old school ) Also I understand heat treatment of steels having been a tool maker for 30+ years .
  12. At the risk of repeating my self I think the file as it is , would be too brittle especially at the very sharp edge without some adjustment to the heat treatment . Just my opinion based on past experience . No wrath here

  14. Its quite obvious that I was wrong in what I said about files and I am sorry . I dont pretend to have superior knowledge of anything . Only speaking from my own experience . I am glad your knife is a success .

  17. I was a biker as opposed to a " rocker " Had many friends on Vespa and Lambretta . Its just I was on a Royal Enfield Constellation 700 twin . Liked all kinds of music back then .
