  4. Interestingly the forestry guys I know tend to use a largish saw 70cc-80cc with a 13" bar ! Needless to say it never bogs !

There are , I am told , little blue pills for " performance gains " ? As for the saws I use the Alkylate fuel because it is cleaner ( inside the engine ) and less intrusive fumes wise . I use the Red Line coz its the best ! IMHO .
  6. You would have thought injection would be more economical than a carb ...

You say " not much has changed " but it has . The oil is what has changed . Red Line specify mixes up to 100:1 . They would not if they thought there was a risk . Any way it really does not matter . You and I and everyone else will continue to do what we are happy with and thats all that matters . ?

I would dispute it as well . My guess , and it is only a guess ( not a guarantee ? ) would be that if you did conduct the experiment neither would go pop but the 40 : 1 saw would gradually lose power as its plug slowly fouled up .
  12. I think it was Midland Springs but any of the spring suppliers on the net will do them . They are a half length leaf with a greasable roller .

    Standard practice back then ?
  14. I have one like that . Works a treat on her own , putting up birds and coming back . Soon as another dog appears fcuk work lets play !
  15. I think Mark that the inset stoves don't punt out as much heat as a free standing stove , not initially anyway but of course this has a absolutely no bearing on you sitting around in yer skidders bud . ?

No . That was the Ariel Leader . Same as an Arrow but with all the " tin work " on .

    I have run saws on 25:1 ( including a 250cc Ariel arrow ) when it recommended it . , 40 : 1 when recommended and 50 : 1 today Its never been a problem .
  18. Fuel solenoid . Replace it to eliminate it . .

Most of the " small engine " problems in the U.S. is down to the high content of ethanol in pump fuel .
