  1. I have a lump of ash that is at least 20 years old and I use it for sharpening up on the back of my truck . It has 2 holes for the stump vice and as you say its like concrete !
  2. Its not new . Lots of people use veg oil here . I don't like it myself but hey .
  3. I disagree . The calorific value of wood/weight is pretty much the same . So a big old lump of dense Holm oak or Hawthorn will give off more energy than the same size lump of say Spruce but the soft wood splits easier , is usually " gun barrel " strait so always processor friendly so quicker to convert . In fact I would say Larch burns hotter than most hard woods if a little quicker . I mix it with hard wood some times but don't think hard wood is actually " more bang for your buck " when all things are considered . Just me .
  4. Start it up and run it till the point it starts to die and then open the fuel cap . If it picks up again then the vent is blocked .
  5. Oh you won't be short on interest . These big 3 series saws are sought after .
  6. You will never use it again if you sell it that's for sure . I think for the sake of £ 700 odd you would be mad . Just me .
  7. Exactly . Sycamore is THE least labor intensive fire wood going .
  8. Its the blank of England on a PC .
  9. I love Sycamore . Grows quickly , splits easy peasy , seasons quick ( as long as rain is kept off and air flow allowed ) and burns as well as Ash or Beech . Even burns fine with a bit of mould on it ! 👍
  10. Fair play . I would see it as its not eating any bread and when that next big ugly job comes up I won't have to buy another one .
  11. I would say that its worth .......Keeping ! 👍

    Covid-19

I know 2 people who caught after having the first Pfizer vaccine . It was said that their symptoms would have been a lot more severe had they not had the first part of the vaccine .
  15. Hey Will . Nicely done bud . When you drop a big heavy stick like that in a domestic situation do you check for underground utility's etc ?
  16. Could be a Fern leaved beech ?
  17. Left my 372 out in the rain and sitting on its side ( starter cover upper most ) . Never used it again that day . Went to start it a couple of days later and pulled the rope and the chain went round . Plenty of WD40 around the clutch bearing and it freed up . Don't leave them on their side !
  18. All depends on the choice of tires . Ice is winter tires only . Mud terrains are no good on ice . Also if you have diff lock as well as high and low 4wd .
  19. The fuel went in the bike . Its an old army trick ! 👍
  20. There was a Shell 5 star pump in our village when I was a nipper . Used to put it in my Royal Enfield Constellation coz I thought it was best .
