  1. Oh , just a note , mine was tweeked by the manufacturers when I mentioned my truck was a manual box. I find now that when bimbeling at 30 - 40 mph I need the very lightest touch on the throttle and can have it in a higher gear than before . E.G. 6th gear at 40mph is now possible . Before it would obviously be laboring . I presume this is down to more torque ? Also I have had to re learn my throttle foot . For " normal " driving much less downward pressure on the loud pedal is needed to achieve similar progress as before .
  2. I like the way the 4 Merlins set off a car alarm 🙂
  3. I would say neither . You made that choice to do that . Just to be clear I did the same . 🙂
  4. Refered to as " long dogs " here .
  5. I don't particularly have a problem with deliberate cross breeding having had a Sprocker myself but at least that was Spaniel on Spaniel . There seems to be a glut of " Labradoodle " and " Cockerpoo " dogs at the moment . Came across a new one to me this morning ....a " Sheepadoodle " This is , as the name suggests a cross between an already crossed " Labradoodle " and an Old English sheep dog . This was deliberate for reasons un known to me . Is it just a fasion/fad thing or are there other reasons for it ? Any one have any thoughts ?
  6. Just fitted on my Navara NP300 Nguard ( or my mate did as he is a mechanic and I am not ) the " Tunit " box and blue tooth power pedal . The claim is to up the bhp from the standard 190bhp to 237bhp with a 12%-15% increase in fuel economy . Me being skeptical could not work out how you can get more grunt using less fuel but it does ! The " power pedal " alters throttle response and the box ups the BHP and torque and so far it is doing what it claims . The only reason I went for it is because the mate who fitted it has had one on his Shogan for a couple of years and rates it . Oh the company is called " Tunit " by the way .
  7. There is a version of the Tulip tree referred to in the USA as" yellow Poplar " were the leaves are more like this one . Could it be that ?
  8. But sometimes we don't do we .....
  9. He always strikes me as a male version of Katie Price .
  10. If I had to have a LR it would be a stackable light weight .

  16. Yes I did it . I bugs me though when it could have been so simple .
  17. I quoted for a job to dispose of a wind blown tree in a blokes garden . The guy said its too much . my gardener will do it . I said fare play , that's fine . Three weeks later I got a call . " can you come and clear up this tree my gardener has made a start so should be cheaper than your original quote . Well I thought ok you are a nice bloke I will come back again and have another look . The price I gave him was more than my original quote . The " gardener " had stripped the stick and piled all the brash every wich way and to about 6" long . This is a nightmare to sort and put through the chipper . ( should have stacked it blunt end first and as long as possible ) on top of that there was his ( the gardener ) garden center chain saw stuck in the stick where he had no idea of the tension and compression involved in the fallen trunk . The job was 2 maybe 3 times as long totally necessarily because he thought the gardener was helping to keep the cost down .
  18. The problem in this part of Sussex was believe it or not the covid lockdown . The dutch " clients " could not come over to buy the stalking .
  19. He's behind you !
  20. All I can tell you , from experience , is you can look down a dead strait track and see nothing and within a few seconds a train is on you !
  21. Yes but the OP said can you point to someone who can " teach me " ....
  22. As has been said you will need DSC1 and DCS2 . For example if you draw a bead on a beast and don't notice that there is one directly behind it in silhouette, you will fail . You might kill the front animal but will horribly injure the one behind .
  23. That's why I thought it must be a wind up .
  24. The fresh cut face of Alder becomes sorta orange after a short period ( mins ) and then slowly ( weeks later ) eventually just goes grey .
