  1. Yes its amazing the affect a neat stack has with all the " white faces " all lined up and tidy. 🙂
  2. If you still require a steel toe cap I can't see that you are going to gain anything ( weight wise ) with non saw boots . Might as well keep what you have .
  3. Been on it for years . The amount I take just puts a concrete end on the first one . After that its ok . When I was it ITU I was on a morphine drip . That bungs you up . Had to have the Richards removed by hand ! ( you leave your dignity in the car park . )
  4. Thats a good call . Same as 550 but with out the rev boost .
  5. Sleep is as you say elusive . Tramadol ( the white and green caps ) did help when I was in hospital . Bloke I work with does boxing ( for charity ) He is a bit of a " silver back gorilla " he tore his bicep right off , it slid up towards his deltoid . He took a round house swing and his opponent stuck his elbow up to cover and it went strait into the muscle and ripped it off .
  6. Yep . Live on Omeprazol ( 1 a day ) and 1x 400mg Ibuprofen + 1x 500mg Co-codamol twice a day . ( morning and night ) . Left shoulder was completely smashed to matchwood so is now a metal ball on a spike pushed into the humerus . Next to useless . Consequently the right shoulder does all the work resulting in two snapped tendons . The rotator cuff is none existent on the left . So Gary I feel your pain and it seems you feel mine 🙂
  7. Most of the problems you mention , the pinching of the bar and the occasional kick back can be avoided with experience and/or training . Its good that you identified the hazards . I'm with Mick . Chopping is with an axe .
  8. The 550 MK2 is the one to go for if you can make an exception in this instance .
  9. If you read the thread you will see the work has been done .
  10. My Bro is 6 years younger than me and lives in Western Aus . Used to mess with him when we were nippers then I started going to the pub and did not see much of him , then all of a sudden he was coming in the pub with me ! Time goes so fast . I am 69 in a minute .
  11. So it seems . ( by way of a bump ) ...
  12. This all day long ! End of thread 👍
  13. Locking forceps make a good tool for skinning dog fish but that's another thread 🙂
  14. Makes my little teenage stint look like a Sunday school outing . I do remember trying to sleep in the back of an old Post office van in Morocco up in the Atlas mountains . It was freeing with hail stones pounding on the van .
  15. Years ago I tried them . I think they are fine for the first few sharpens but the plastic rollers ware down dropping the file too low putting too much hook on the cutter . Standard Oregon plate type guide for me . EDIT Sorry meant to quote OLY1 " what do you use "
  16. Sycamore is the least labor intensive fire wood going be it kindling medium logs or big logs . Seasons fast and splits easy peasy .
