  1. Well that's good then , for you , seems like there is some inconsistency in QC ?
  2. Are they like a soft top sports car , sunny days only ?
  3. Looks very much like Pop to me also .
  4. You should dress the bar and flip it every , say, 3 sharpens . This will make better use of it .
  5. Have always found Oak ( Quercus Robur ) Slow , and , takes a long time to season ( 3 years min ) and even then always mix it with Syc, Ash or Beech . Holm Oak is a different kettle of fish though . I would suspect your " kiln dried " bit .
  6. Beautiful figure there Saul . 👍
  7. Pissed it down the last few days and stopped about 06:00 am this morning . Bright sunshine now and 15 degrees .
  8. What ever it is it has crappy form Deodar " down bits " , Lebanon " level bits " and Atlas " up bits " . Thats why I thought it might be a Macrocarpa ( Monterey cypress ) .
  9. Yes , A Lebanon . Coz it looked a bit skanky I thought it might be a mac but I expect I am wrong .
  10. Sounds very similar to the early Stihl 261 syndrome . Oval crank or something like that I think it was .
  11. I would hate to be with you when your on your own mate .
  12. I never realised procurement of fire wood was so involved and complex . I have a stove , and a splitter . That's all . 🙂
  13. It will still leave carbon deposits in your engine though unlike an Alkylate fuel , but yes a good option .
  14. They certainly do . 🙂 Ricinus Communis . Castor bean plant .
  15. This I have done many moons a go in some of my old British iron .
  16. R40 I seem to remember is a " castor bean/vegetable " based oil made for 4 stroke engines and should changed more often than a mineral or synthetic oil . Red line 2t is a fully synthetic I believe designed for 2 stroke engines .
  17. So , nothing to do with Steve McGarret and Danno then ?
  18. Strangely 🙂 I have heard that the Husqvarna stuff is the best ( would you believe it ? ) The highest octane rating is not necessarily the best bet for relatively low compression 2 stroke engines .
  19. I use this ( Husqvarna XP Power 4 ) and mix with Red Line 2t Racing oil at 50:1 . This because I have a lot of this oil left .
  20. Some nights , lying in bed , I would be listening to what sounded like to me a big diesel engine ticking over . I would get up and open the window to listen , nothing . This happened quite frequently . It took me several months to realize that it was my pulse ! The blood pumping in my head near my ears . Bonkers innit ?
