  1. Cheeky I believe reports go to the Central Bureacracy where an army of investigators deal with it. Normally ending in the mysterious disappearance of said spammer....
  2. Students take note, this is the way to get people involved in your projects....
  3. Quite right, takes all sorts. Impossible to apply the same rules and criteria to everyone, you'd die trying. Take all as you find is the best way to a long life, you never know what little gem you might stumble upon
  4. Thought so, you were on the ball there Steve, like lightning mate!
  5. rachaelcollins01 Some pretty inane postings before getting deleted.... I did wonder how long they would last....!
  6. Need to establish whether yours has euro hooks or the old farmhand brackets, they are similar but not the same. If the loader headstock is not a euro type you can either cut off existing brackets and weld on the matching ones to the attachments or swap the carriage for a euro type one. A call to the seller will tell you what it has. Weld on euro brackets for the attachments are cheap and the accepted layout for new kit.
  7. I have some, don't use them anymore. Not comfy. Save up for decent ones or wait for some secondhand ones....
  8. I had something like these as my first spikes. Ok, but money wasted really because I bought ally Bashlins in the end, and they'll last forever.... Be better off with these.... Tree Climbing Spikes, Long Gaffs, Tree surgeon, Arborist | eBay Neil (nellybelly) is selling them, decent set of Bashlins....
  9. Which ones did you get...? I have the twisted ali ones, love 'em...
  10. I found out who she is... I think I found my 'free pass'!
  11. I'm registered on a couple, a landy one and one for a rather embarrassing childhood hobby. Briefly used the Subaru forester owners forum for mechanical assistance when I had one. Probably some others. I occasionally read lruk but don't really post anymore. The scale modelling one, which was the first forum I used, got a bit irritating, there were a lot of kids on there but some of them were tossers..... I'm only committed to the lovely arbtalk....!
  12. Top marks Chris Wall for being such a gent and Paul, your measured and thoughtful contribution to this great collective which I enjoy reading so much are fully deserving of such a noble act, you've most definitely earned it. Two top blokes, I take my hat off to both of you. Nice to read some good news every now and again!
  13. Impressive work!
  14. I always tried to use HMV, I like to have a high street full of diverse shops and understand that for that to be there for me I need to support it. I made a conscious effort to continue to buy my music on CD from a music shop, besides, I like to have a CD on my shelf as well as a copy in my ipod. But I just found HMV so dreadful to shop in. The process of actually purchasing something seemed to take forever. You can rarely find what you want because most people don't put CD's back where they picked them up from and the queues at the checkout were ridiculous every time. I can't remember the last time I successfully made a purchase from one of their stores, I get as far as choosing then abandon the idea and walk out. And end up buying it from itunes instead. A terrible shame but not entirely suprising...
  15. Try a smear of copper ease round the thread and mating faces including the back of the nut, wire brush everything first. Will allow the nuts to properly tighten and should stop the vibrations from working the thread loose.
  16. Because EVERYTHING's expensive these days. And we're getting old and beginning to sound like our parents..... 'I remember when you could buy a Marathon and get change from a twenty pence piece. And a gallon of fuel and a Sunday paper AND get change from a fiver!'
  17. I always found iMovie pretty simple. Not used it for years though....
  18. Rope wrench, bits to make tether, stuff for another lanyard..... And a rope bag AND a new spout for my blower.....!
  19. So I have abandoned dynamic and on recommendation I'm going to try 10mm OP with 8mm Sirius for my new strop . Have ordered a pinto which may go on this lanyard or may end up on the rw.... Will post the finished article into the lanyard thread when it's done! Thanks for your help folks...
  20. I'm off to have a play on some big open oak and ash on Saturday so will let you know how I get on...
  21. Interesting.... Just over a year ago on page 2......
  22. Good idea.... I'll see you in a few days!
  23. That's it, I've finally done it, I've ordered a rope wrench.... (And a few other bits including stuff for a new lanyard....) So knowing Justin's service that will be with me on Thursday.... Excited much!
  24. I set my vt up to self tend a couple of times, I can see the attraction!
  25. Oh, you're one of those self tending softies .....
