  1. Jack is coming along tomorrow, plenty of room of anyone else is interested. Novices welcome!
  2. There are dozens of similar questions..... Needless to say I wasn't full of sympathy when I was told the news.....
  3. 2 year old threw wife's ipad out the window of her moving car this morning. Daddy is NOT IMPRESSED
  4. We're in desperate need of a man to drive a stop go board for us on Monday in Fowey. The stop go bit isn't a full time job so it's a day shovelling and operating the board when the dumper is full. If anyone would like to do this (and other days as well) please get in touch. Thanks Simon
  5. I thought he'd gone all invasion of the body snatchers on Alex!
  6. SATURDAY 2nd MARCH Re-pollard of some pretty knackered farm sallies. Many have split or are starting to split at the union between new and old growth. Not very big, easy access and ginormous drop zone, albeit quite wet in places.... Climb, cut, cord, burn the brash. Manitou will be on hand to make things a bit easier. Same as before, if you want to come and have a go you're very welcome, just get in touch and I'll give you all the details.
  7. That's a thing of beauty Have a feeling there is one I started last summer somewhere, will have a look! Edit.... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/43832-summer-must-about-here-anyone-else-have-any-fair-weather-toys.html
  8. Rattling windows, dripping pipes and crumbling masonry I imagine.....

  10. Old Tuttle does make some nice stuff.....
  11. Great place to post those videos about climate change.....
  12. You'd have thought Paul would have put it on Arbtrader!
  13. Except for Steve, who I think hides undercover as a 'member'.... Not even a senior one.... Bit like Morgan Freeman changing the lightbulb at the start of Bruce Almighty.....
  14. Posts I think jack....
  15. Ah, got you, I don't have anything to do with that side of things...
  16. Ah, a boy! Someone to take on the mighty 460 as you get old and frail Isn't that each or something.....? I know there was a hoo hah over it.... I thought two earners could have a higher combined household income than one high earning single income before the credit was lost.....
  17. Will pm you Chris. Not riding anything yet, used to have a kx250 purely for off road, plan is to go through direct access and end up on a BMW 800gs.... But that's a bit big for greenlaning so first purchase will be a little single cylinder enduro....
  18. Congratulations Mark! She (?) arrived then! No idea on the tax side of things though I'm afraid mate....
  19. They must have already met you!
  20. Thanks Chris, that would be much appreciated! I did the mock theory tests on the dsa website the other day and got 46 & 49 out of 50 so fairly happy with that. I remember doing one of the mock perception tests online a few years ago and apparently being 'over cautious'....? Seemed odd to me since all I did was tap on the things I spot when driving normally.... On coming vehicles, is the driver concentrating, parked cars, is there a kid about to jump out from behind it, that sort of thing.... Thnk I could do with a bit more experience of how that element of the test actually works.... I guess 17 years of driving isn't enough....! Can't wait to get out on the road again though, even just on a 125 for cbt!
  21. Can't see that being easy to retrieve I have a pulley saver proper and even that's a pain in the a*** to retrieve!
  22. And jet pack..... Can't forget that..... Last time I was out I used both ddrt and SRT. In the morning I threw a line up, climbed, set the multisaver and worked a few small trees ddrt, it was great. I love my hitch climber and vt. Then later on, on something a bit more awkward and involved, with a not at all climbable stem I base anchored a single line, set up the wrench on a vt with a pinto and worked the tree SRT. This was also great. If I thought ddrt would have been better in that application I'd have used it. But looking the tree and what I had to do I decided SRT would be more efficient and less damaging. I really appreciate having the choice. I'm not the worlds best climber, I don't do it enough to be like popeye, so anything which eases it for me and makes my work more efficient is alright in my book. I still like ddrt, and I've invested too much in it to abandon it, never minding the fact that in so many situations it's perfect, but SRT has opened a world of possibilities for me and there's no way I'd drop it from my kit bag now, I have definitely seen the light!
  23. Well done Chris. How did you find it? I've just started down the road on mine again with theory & cbt coming up soon. Last time it did cbt the test was still 1 part, kicked myself since for not doing it while I had the chance.... Like you I spend a lot of time drooling over eBay at little enduros for green landing, fancy a crf250, and on the BMW motorrad site mooning over an f800gs...... Can't wait toget that ticket!
  24. Awesome story Rupe! Can you remember his name? Thanks for posting treewolf, I love things like this, another pin on the map of places I want to visit!
  25. What sort of tether do you have Mark....? If it only has 1 loop on the pulley end try it on a pinto instead of hc... Reduces sit back and clutter. Need a wide biner for this set up though, Petzl william was the solution for me... Tried rock o & isc fixed pulley initially but that was not neat enough..... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/813463-post1961.html Lots of photos of great set ups in this thread....
